The body shop will have to do a whole lot, plus mucho $$$$$ to make that thing purty. OZ sleeper that's pretty funny, but I know of a buddy with a Eclipse GSX sleeper that has 420 hp...****'s tight!

 

Thats interesting. I don't think the OZ qualifies as an ugly car by any means. Most people I've talked to said the Evo looked just as much of the Grandma mobile as my OZ and a lot of them said it was uglier because they thought the wing was stupid. I don't think either car is...ugly I just think an OZ done right can be just as good as an Evo power wise especially the one coming to the states. If someone was to get a "REAL" evo from the good folks at Evolution Imports then I would have to say otherwise but considering the US record with Japanese cars over here i.e. Civic Si vs Civic Type R Acura NSX vs. Honda NSX Current Lancer OBD(SOHC) vs Lancer Cedian(DOHC) WRX here vs Japan. It doesn't look like things are in the EVOs favor as far as OEM goes. But I know personally I'd rather see the looks on peoples faces when I passed them in my OZ(aka Pinto) then I would in an Evo. I'd rather earn my accolades than buy them you know what I mean? I just think its more impressive to take nothing and make it into something than to take something and make it just a lil something more than it was. No offense its like the rich kid who gets a Mustang and Supercharges it vs the kid with the honda who bags groceries and tricks it out. I'd give the lesser kid more for doing what he did than I would the Stang thats just me though. I guess you guys just wanna take the highway and I wanna climb Everast.

You guys ****ing dissapoint me....I leave for two months. Read two threads....and i get disgusted. Where are the people that actually know about cars, turbos, PURPOSES, and know the car inside and out.

I would have to agree that the original question is down right retarded. Always depends on the driver and purpose. If you guys want to talk about fast cars. ****ing go with a bigblock V8 with 800+ hp. If you want to talk import performance. Go with something like a Porsche, ferrari, lamborgini. Talking a semi reasonable price go with a skyline, GTO, or a ZeroFighter VI. Get your standards...have your questions make sense.

 

I know enough about the Evo. 0-60 in 4.7 Power throughout the RPM range famed to be better than the SUBY in the VI but hearing that 7 was a bit of a disapointment; however I've never been one to jump on the band wagon I'd rather be my own man. So you say what you want I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything my oppinion is my own you have yours I think, I'm not really sure what you were trying to get across by your reply but it seemed to lack a general intelligence about it. I wouldn't see a need in taking posted text messages personally As for stupid questions if people didn't do stupid things or ask the stupid questions you probably would never have seen an EVO or any other invention for that matter.

 

If you want to talk about how bad are threads are then read the tech threads. This started off as an "either or". Granted tech plays a big part, but I personally can't see why someone would pick a car based on performance alone.

The simple fact of the matter is that the original question was vague to the point of only including one spec...HP...Some people expanded on it. Others did not.

I don't mean this in a "what the hell is wrong with you, man" kinda way, but rather a "whoah...take it easy" kinda way...but I think you're overreacting, revolution. It's just a simple "this or that"and why?

Just that stupid questions. Did you parents think you were stupid if you asked them how to use the potty even though they could've told you how a million times before? Plus if you haven't noticed what it says under my name its "NEWBIE" meaning I probably haven't been around for the threads you were going off about you know how many pages there are in this forum you honestly think I've looked at them all to notice which topics have been mentioned and which ones haven't. Plenty of other people do the same things in other threads and no one goes and jumps down their neck about asking something thats already been answered. Ok...as a matter of fact my parents made me find out everything i wanted to know on my own. I was really 'Loved' as a child. and growing up in tough neighborhood didn't exactley do a good number on my...willingness...to teach. I think. I mean something different but that's all i can manage right now. Sorry loneme...another stupid question to me is how to set gear ratios...cause to me it's been common knowledge. To answer you question nicely.
The 4g63 and the 16g turbo are easily one of the better options in choosing the car you want to buy. The Lancer, which isn't a bad car, does not have a broad horizon for mods. You can however put a 4g63 into one. same engine compartment and everything. I've even seent he engine in a 94 colt. Heh...silly thing, but ******* did that thing NOT haul ***. 10.4 in 1/4. Anyway...I suggest the Evo cause you can do a lot more with it. Where as the lance you can make it look like the Evo...but will never be one. Save your money kid...get an evo.

 

I understand the ruff area stuff so I can understand how you can have a short fuse RevO I have one too(admitted road rager and shares lack of tolerance for stupid questions) believe me though I pondered the EVO many a time I found the specs made the calls wrote the emails found the upgrades limits etc... I get it to the Evo when it comes to known performance hands down its the easy winner in that category vs many cars in the US for the Jap/Euro spec but the US is known for messing up imports and I'm sure thats not gonna change with the EVO and what makes it worse is all the talk about AUTO Trans getting into my head if they make the EVO AUTO trans for the US I'll never get it (only reason why I'm not driving an SVT lightning and never will). BLAH thats why I like my lil OZ and its lil 3rd pedal(chose that over WRX...go figure) I was thinking about getting a Cedia drivetrain and making my OZ AWD now too and maybe even getting that engine later on and really making a sleeper. I dunno I suppose I see the OZ as a bigger challenge than an EVO either that or I'll wait for everyone to get EVOs and get the STI and mod that for my AWD vehimhicle since as far as hearsay its gonna beat the US EVO. Whatcha think?

 

I think I speak for most Lancer owners when I say that, for one reason or another, we didn't have any realistic intentions of buying an Evo when we bought our cars. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the majority of us posting knew what we were getting into when we bought our cars.

...and I still stick with the 300hp OZ. Someone's gotta cheer on the underdog...and be called stupid for doing so.
