Oil change

Ok so on my last oil change i used synthetic. But is it better to use normal oil or synthetic on our cars? Also if you go to synthetic you wont be able to go back to normal oil would you?

I've been using that synthetic from Quaker State and have not noticed any problems at all, in fact my car runs better over when I used to have the dealership change it! Besides it is cheaper in the long run since you can stretch out your cahnge interval a little more.

you can go back to regular oil if you want, it's not like it will damage the engine. regular oil just breaks down quicker.

i use synthetic in my car and i plan on using it as long as i can afford to do so.

I use Mobil 1 and I've noticed the engine is noticeably quieter and it seems to run a little smoother.

RRM has you switch to 20w50 NON-synthetic oil with the kit.

I know this has been argued about before, but why is this?

I think it has to do with the fact that the turbos they sell are oil-cooled. Probably flows better through the small oil feed/return lines. Or maybe the higher weight deals with the HIGH temps. that turbos reach better. You'd have to ask Rob.

I just changed my oil this afternoon, and used Royal Purple.
I think that'd be your best bet.

WTF does that have to do with the topic? He didn't ask what you use.

Expensive, yes.
Hard to find, not so much.

They sell it at Summit. Anyone with the Internet or a phone can have it on their doorstep in a couple days...

Well hard to find if you're canadian. I don't think I've ever seen royal purple for sale anywhere but more specialty automotive places.
