Feels like there is wind underneath the car

When I hit 80+ mph my car feels like it has wind underneath it, making the back end feel like its on ice. If anyone has a reason/solution for this or a previous thread I overlooked, please let me know. Thanks in advance

our cars are not very stable after 80 mps. tires, new swaybar, coilovers should fix this

(Ignore the above post)

If you want the back end to be more stable at speed, get a rear wing. The bigger, the better. The rear wing adds downforce.

Granted, new tires probably couldn't hurt. But they aren't the answer.

dont be a loser...... lol

Yes, a evo wing would help this out. My stock OZ rally never had this issue.. You driving in hurricanes? Better tires would help a lil bit like was said and getting a drop would help by lowering the center of gravity but your best bet is a evo wing if its really that bad...

It's an inconvenient truth.

Want downforce, get a wing/splitter.

Unfortunatly my tires are about three weeks old, checked their balance and pressure this weekend, still the same problem. I dont normally not take advice from such experienced members, but I refuse to get a big wing-nothing personal, just too much rice for me.

I've gone much faster than 80mph and really not have gotten that feeling.

Lowering the car will definetly help since it will lower your center of gravity as well as create less wind flow under the car. tighter suspension is your best bet man but then again I do have my stock spoiler on the back

was what i said not right? just when i thought was beggining to graduate from total newb status...

yeah i guess that would make sense if the rear is what feels so off, i remember that thread about people saying the evo wing helped on the highway

Basically, you were giving him advice for OVERALL traction. But he specifically asked about REAR traction. So your advice wasn't really good for this exact question. But we appreciate you trying to help.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, but I think Im going to go with the lowering springs rather than the wing, but find some struts that can take the pressure (cant afford coilovers)

Cost of springs + new shocks > tein basic coilovers

true it is best to do it right the first time. save up for some coilovers if you are going this route.
