Have a problem with the floorboard

For some reason there is a bigass ****ing dent in the floorboard in front of my deadpedal. I wanted to install a metal heelplate but this dent kept me from being able to install it.

Sorry about the crappy pix, they were taken with my cellphone camera.

Anyone had this happen before? Any clue what might have caused this?

Someone might have placed a jack under there. When I had my underglow Discount tire used one under my floorboard to jack my car up cause they said that the lift might hit the bulbs. When I went to leave I noticed that my floor was about 3 inches higher!!!! Some teenager didnt know how to use a jack. I told them they were going to fix it or pay to have it fixed. So I drove to a body shop and the owner (somewhat of a friend of mine) had one of his guys beat it back down with a rubber hammer for free. No damage was done and I have not been back to Discount tire since.

Oh and the manager guy said that thats where the jack was supposed to go. I called him a liar and there was plenty of room as to not hurt my neons.

So just take a hammer to it!

I tried a rubber mallet, no budging. Not enough room to get a good swing

hum... try placing a 2x4 on the floor and hit the other end of the 2x4 with the hammer. From what I remember it took quite a bit of pounding to get it flat.

Odd, is there any dampness in/on the padding? Water leaking through the rubber grommet?

There are no leaks, just the area around the rubber grommet is about 2" higher than the rest of the floorboard. Annoying as ****. I havent had a chance to take a swing at it yet, maybe tonight.

I thought this was gonna be something like your 100 shot of nitrous blew the welds while you were drag racing and the floorpan flew off the car...
