Next Gen Lancer Engine Bay Pic

Observations:
Engine Layout REVERSED !!

The intake manifold is in the front. The exhaust manifold is in the back. This would be the case with the evo too (Not Good), and can explain the third vent in the back of the hood. If you look at previous year evos and lancers, the general layout is the same.

This also would provide less space to work for upgraded turbo kits.

The thinking behind this makes a lot of sense. You put the turbo and exhaust manifold by the firewall to keep the heat back there. You put the intake manifold and intake in the front so it stays cool. Better and consistent performance. This layout has worked well for the Honda K series engines. Plus, for a horizontally mounted engine, the weight is placed towards the back (all the exhaust stuff) and not hanging out in the front. Looks promising to me.

why is everyone fretting about this? we are human beings and are brains are designed to engineer and make things work! thats kinda what got us were we are! i dont think manifold placement and some plastic is gonna put an end to the evo performance days! give it six months after being released and someone will have 1000 awhp one roaming the streets. think back it happens all the time
