Video of Lancer OZ Fun

Looks like someone had a little fun on a Sunday afternoon... nothing incredibly impressive, even a bit stupid, but it's an enjoyable watch nonetheless.

If you have questions, feel free to contact me directly as I might have more information regarding the video down the road...

Thanks, I'll have to tell "him" that you like the videos. He just might be inspired to make more of them. The shifting, well, I believe he's getting used to driving the new car after having a turbo charged... um... Supra for so many years, so that will quickly change (he might also be worried about wear on the tranny from using a short shifter). He continually embarasses himself by driving it, waiting for a spool... habitual, perhaps?

I'm told that the next set of videos will involve much more planning (they were only headed to the beach to video tape girls and a football game, but ended up going for a detour) with safety lookouts and better, safer locations. They should be much better, and if combined with skillful (heh) driving of other Socal Lancers, could contribute to a fun and long(ish) video montage (which would be edited by someone other than the person who did these clips) to make available.

Oh, you're talking about the shifting on the straight away I see. That's intentional. The speed limit is only 55 mph there and that corner is very blind and known to house cops sitting around the intersection... the car was just cruising once it hit 70 mph pretty early on the stretch and it was in no rush to get going... the driver only wishes he could take that corner tight at full speed... he wouldn't have a license for very long, though.

(the driver has made plenty of trips to the 1/4 track and isn't a *bad, bad* shifter )

Tightness like a virgin Orb. I'd go for that taping but I'd rather do it in the rain....had a romp behind my job a ways back with my buds one rainy night good ol empty corporate park parking lots.

Just turning hard. The car has a front sway bar so, although the body roll does look pretty fierce, it's not as bad as a stock would be. It still needs to get lowered and have some other suspension mods installed. Just not sure how far to take it and what the cost/benefit is.

A good grip on the steering wheel sufficed to keep the driver in snug while the passenger--yes, he begged and also does drugs (are very bad)--just held on tight to the "oh ****" handles.

So would I... we just don't get much around here. I'm also wondering how well the paint job would withstand some fun in the dirt/gravel... or what the story is behind autocross or, or...

Ah, an entirely different world of cars and driving... loving it all the same.

Erm, just the sway bar, but Intrax springs are getting fitted in a day or two (for free =D)-- just found that out. Obviously, I'd like to take care of all of that stuff, but I'm going to do it one mod at a time. Once the 17" F1 Cups with new rubber get put on, the days of sliding hard on corners will be relegated to birthdays and anniversaries.
