2008 Lancer ES Preview
To be honest I would really like if you could get some side by side photo comparisons between the new car and the outgoing lancer. I think you guys can pull that one off. Just so you can see how much wider or taller the new car is versus what we are used to.
The other thing I'm curious about is, obviously as lancer owners you are going to be a little biased. I would like to see the impressions of someone who might be in the market for a car in this class. How the handling, ride, options, interior quality stack up against the competition.

We askled for a previous lancer to compare and they didnt have any. If we get a chance we will drive by a mitsu dealer to take a couple shots. Basicallt eh car is actually a tiny bit shorter in length with a longer wheelbase. It is a little wider and about the same height.
The last part is impossible as we cannot let anyone else test the car. We (Ali and I) are not very biased despite our roles here. If there is something we don't like, we will say it. We are keeping in mind both the type of car and class this is in and that it reflects on what the higher levels will be ased on as well.

Hope they also fit the RA when it comes out...
Also, take some close-up shots of where people will want to mount stuff. You might find it strange, but pics of the interior of the glove box, inside of compartments, under the front seats and so on will be helpfull to some. Measurements would help too...
Another interesting thing would be to take out the wheels and show the suspension and brakes. Clearance inside the stock wheels would be interesting to some (altough I don't remember if they are steel wheels or something decent).
Anyway, you get where I'm going with this... stuff for EvoM members.
You know: Can the antenna be unscrewed? Can the fog lights bulbs be changed more easily than on the previous model... that sort of things. You are the only chance we will get at a review from the perspective of a Mitsubishi owner... not a journalist or PR guy. You could even drag a propective buyer (of the ES) with you... he might prove to be interested in stuff EVO owners wouldn't remotely be...

Well, we have the car and have started reviewing it. So far, its is surprisingly good and a world of difference from the previous model, but thats all you get for now.
Have:
Lots of engine shots including covers off.
Suspension/brakes shots with wheels off...interesting rear strut mounting
Working on interior shots, but have some
Shots underneith on lift
0-60
whp
mpg
Couldn't get quarter mile, but we have a good estimate
Driving impressions
Shots next to 06 Lancer
Shots next to 06 Evo
Shots of ali posing in front of it
Still working on:
Interior shots including odd details
Interior features
60-0
And all this in super cold temps just because we care
