You are in cali so it shouldnt be hard to find an evo. lol.. Theres only one evo I know of and hes an hour away from me or I would get you a pic.

Thats actually not my car. Im planning to do a custom 16g kit so in my research I came across all this.

heres a couple pics I found. I do believe the second one is a pic of the pipe going right past where the battery sits in this car.

heres a link to the thread on this build.

and heres another custom 16g build thread where I got info.

It can't be done without fabrication. I'm 100% positive from this, when I was trying to find out if Lancers could use the mini-battery mounts made for Evos. No way you'd be able to put a OEM sized battery in the Evo spot, but you might be able to fab a mount for a mini-battery in that location.

There's currently a mini-batt mount in developement, but it'll still be in the stock location.

Well the heat shield wouldn't be used when you go turbo. Could make the mount and then install it when it's needed.

Now, for the answer:

No, it won't fit without fabrication. The Lancer does not have the mounting bolts that the Evo has.
Been there, bought it, tried it, sold it.

well this sounds interesting. i've read about it before. I think most people just relocate to the trunk.
if you do it take lots of pics and tell us how it went etc.
It'll be good to compare this with relocating. see which is easier.

Hmm...I'm interested too. I was planning on doing the relocation to the trunk too. If this is easier by some strange and odd way I'll may go that route, lol.
Kungfugirl, you read Marx?

I could have sworn I've seen a pic of a Lancers engine bay with the battery in the evo location. Hasn't someone done this before and put up pics?

If they did it, they didn't use the Evo kit. It can very easily be done with some fabrication. You just can't bolt in the kit.

Personally, I'd put a full-size in the trunk and be happy with the better weight-distribution. But that's just me.
