Im pretty sure you can, you just need to fab up a mount. The location where it mounts to in the evo is missing in the lancer.

amby- its actually very useful if you are turbo... you can then route the intake to the stock evo intake location for better air. Of course moving the battery to the trunk is even better but the evo battery location works just as well. If you dont do this and have the stock lancer battery location the intake has to be behind it like usual = not as cold air.

There's got to be a better reason than that.

Ah k Bryce's post makes sense. Never heard of people doing this though since most turbo kits work with the stock location.

nope... thats pretty much it.

Only reason to do this would be for a intake location.

yeah. Only times ive seen this done is on custom set-ups. Although It would be better to relocate the battery and do your own custom intake pipe to the better location. Most people dont want to bother though. As long as it works.

Yeah I just tend to ask these kinds of questions since I'm quite wary of newbie threads. It's not exactly a great mindset, but it's one that's just grown from all the dumb threads that pop up on here (not saying this thread is dumb since it actually looks like valid and quite ingenious reason for doing it). I was half expecting the rationalization to be along the lines of "I've heard the evo tray is lighter/better" or "I plan on dumping an evo engine in next week".

im not a tool, and unless your a major one, your qoutes say you arent either, i understand forum mentality, and how you go insane, especially with some trolls.

so i have to fab a bracket? what im trying to do is relcate the battery to slide the intake im using *rmr* to function on the intake side of a custom turbo

I never said nor implied you were a tool, in fact I implied quite the opposite. I was simply explaining why my first response to this thread was to ask why.

Best thing to do is to go to a evo meet and try to get a look at a evo battery tray to see what kinda bracket it has and compare. I dont have a pic handy of a evo with battery out of the tray. I know for a fact a bracket would need to be fabbed though.

You are in cali so it shouldnt be hard to find an evo. lol.. Theres only one evo I know of and hes an hour away from me or I would get you a pic.
