noooooooooooo not the honeycombs

crap... i dont know how this happened at all, especially since i was careful not to even touch them, but when i was installing the cold air intake, i was having trouble with the MAF bolts, so i just ended up taking off the whole box to work on it outside the car, and before i put it in , i noticed a few of the honeycombs were bent. just a couple in the middle

Now how bad did i screw up my car???
If i do need to get a new one, can i just buy one at any local autozone or pep boys or do i need to go to a dealership.
Can i just leave it alone???? CEL isn't coming on.......i reset ECU and gave proper time to adjust and drove it around for a bit, i'm thinking maybe i'll reset it again tomorrow morning cause i did gun it for a little bit to feel the extra power lol.

so how bad did i f*ck up guys?? be honesT

p.s. i tried searching but after 4 pages of reading threads , i got fed up and decided to ask myself

Oooooh you're really f---ed now. J/k I really don't know what happens if you bend it a bit. I guess it's ok if theres no CEL and it drives fine. But if you do notice it screwed something up, I would check with the junkyards to find a recked lancer (same trans. type as yours) and get it off their first cause the dealer will charge out the ***.

I'd recommend not using needle noses cause they have ridges for grip which could be harsh on the fins. Are they just bent a tiny bit or pushed down hard? I would just leave them until something happens with it.

You are fu(ked....however; just cross your fingers and wait until used MAF shows up on ebay. As soon as you see one............jump on it

I wouldn't use a needle nose pliers.

Get one of those small screw drivers (usually silver) that you can use for glasses or small screws and gently and I mean gently straighten out the honey combs.

This happened to me also when I installed my CAI. Don't try to get too perfect an edge because if they are bent there is only so much straightening you can do.
Once you try to make the edges perfect you will likely break the honeycomb piece itself.

See if you can take a pic and post up.

WOuld be easier to tell how badly damaged it is.

They make some needle nose pliers that does not have the grip teeth. I picked up mine from radioshack a while back.

straighten them out the best you can. If it gives you problems you are going to have to buy a new one. If anything you can get an evo one from someone that went full ems.
