Props to Progress!!!

So I just installed my Progress 19mm rear sway bar and that was the easiest install I have ever done! It was even easier then changing my oil!! Took a total of about 25 minutes to get on there! If anyone has not done the sway bar upgrade, it makes an enormous difference in handling!! I have all stock suspension except for this bar and the difference is night and day!

So good job to Progress for making a great product! And the best part is that Progress supplies directions specific to the vehicle instead of a generic set of directions. And, they even give you the factory part #'s for the perches if your putting this on an ES model. Its awesome!!

And props to RRM for designing the bar and working with Progress to get you all that good stuff.

i am very jealous it took you less than 30 minutes to put yours on.

when i was replacing the perches for the bar on my car it took me almost four hours. this is mostly because every single bolt snapped and had to be drilled and re-tapped. ughhhhh.

I'm pretty sure the folks at meant to order "rust stopper" but accidentally ordered "super rust builder plus". Every bolt under the Lancer rusts to **** about four miles after you leave the dealership.

I got my bar from Summit Racing. The last one they had on sale! DIRT cheap! But mine was fast because I didn't do the perches. I am going to get those in a couple weeks.

Yeah I remember removing my exhaust too, it was freaking gay. But only 1 bolt broke in the removing of the whole exhaust and catalytic converter so it wasnt too horrible lol

Thats usually how it goes for me too. I was shocked when all the nuts broke loose without even using wd-40 or anything. We'll see... I know that because the sway bar was so easy, the perches are going to be a huge PITA.

Make it easier for your-self, and periodically apply some loose-nut on the bolts. Lube them up once or twice a day for 2-3 days before you start working on it. That way, the lube will have time to break through the rust and crap.

Is it a garanteed solution? Nope. But it can't hurt.

And let's not forget that both endlinks broke. And I got rust in my eye.

Regarding the rust stories, I think I have the best - when working on kfos01's car, the exhaust was 100% seized. Couldn't get the nuts/bolts off with a cutting wheel. Eventually he bought a whole exhaust, so we removed the entire stock setup in one piece (yes, everything from the header to the muffler). Finally disassembled the pieces with a blowtorch.

When I had my wrx, I was putting a new downpipe on and all the nuts and bolts came pretty easy but 3 of the 5 seized up when I was threading them back on?

Never quite figured out why that happened? The threads were all good before I put them back on too.

Congrats on the swaybar. I felt the difference when I first installed it.

It is the single best suspension mod for the Lancer, especially the ES. Soon we will be selling the bars as sets with the autocross perches. FYI on that. THey will be packaged together. Thanks
