.. just because civics are riced out havn't you seen nice clean looking ones?? all you need is a drop.. Some black spoon rims.. and your set.. maybe some MUGEN MF-10.. If i had to choose between an Civic Si or an Oz.. assuming its not the newest si.. i take the Si over the OZ everyday.. So much more performance oriented

 

i like other people drive it because its something differnt and you dont see a lot of them, well I do now but not when i first go it around a year ago. Plus, it was either a lancer or a focus. Personally i would have the lancer
But, ya it is easily moded, i have only added exhaust and SRI, but the SRi was a breeze and took 30 mins at most to add on and the exhaust i had done, but sounds nice and took the guy like 1 hour to do, give or take a little.

Ya, and along again with the others, its not a ricey civic or a slow focus.

Thats like saying why do people drive civics? HONDAS SUCK NUTS HARDCORE!! I had a choice a crappy american car, a chezzy V.W. Jetta or a japanese car i test drove a honda and then the lancer The lancer had a better feel and it was quick. I enjoy driving my mitsubishi lancer and after i hook it up i will enjoy it alot more. My dad has had a mitsubishi galant for about 9 years and the car is still running great. I got a lancer beacuse mitsubishi makes quality cars and i didnt wanna be just another moron driving a civic around.

 

I picked the lancer OZ cause it has a sexy ***. I like the 'boxy' look on it.

There aren't many Lancers around town. On ANY Drive, I can count atleast 20-30 Honda's or Neons ... too many.

 

I got mine because when I needed a new car, I wanted sporty but I'm also a divorced dad with two kids and I couldn't spend a lot of green. Loved the stereo and the handling. Really just liked the style of the car and I have found no trouble in searching for aftermarket parts. I can say that I'm going to keep my car for a long time and when I get done with it this i going to be a great car.

 

1. I couldn't buy a couple 'cuz my parents don't allow me

2. It's not a Honda, crappy security system, and crappy look

3. Best looking sedan compared to others of the same level: Civic/Corolla, etc

 

I forgot to mention i am 6'3 250 pounds and i fit nicely into my lancer with plenty of leg room, my legs were on the steering wheel in the honda. The honda interrior hasnt changed in the last 20 years. Honda are overpriced garbage.

 

i had an explorer and was getting ****ty gas mileage and seemed like a way to save money. when i got it i wasnt even thinking of tuning but then i found this website and it changed my mind. It's a good car to learn about tuning because it's new and not everybody has one. And, oh yeah IT'S NOT A HONDA!

 

Wow, everyone hates Honda here. LOL Granted, if I see the "Civic Nation" spot on TV again I'll snap...

My reasons:

1) Roomy. Moreso than most econoboxes out there. Plus, I'm probably one of the few people who drives in my group of friends. A two door just would not do.

2) Though it is an underpowered engine, I've found that in Canada it's actually higher than average for the price (in the base model anyway). If I want more power, I can get it relatively easy.

3) OZ handles quite well with the stock rear stablizer. Tires would definitely improve on that.

4) It's a damn quiet car, with little vibration.

5) A good sound system that actually is a STANDARD DECK SIZE! Seems so hard to fine one like that.

6) It's different. I barely see any Lancers kicking around in the GTA, and you'll always notice another one on the street, which brings me to;

7) the other Lancer drivers. I've only met a few here on the site, but from what I can tell, everyone is damn friendly and supportive.

Those are my reasons.

 

Here it goes

I used to own a 2k1 Golf GLS 1.8T, worked it a bit. Ran 14.2 with stock turbo. It was a lease . My warranty expired, the thing started having problems, and since it was a lease, I figured I would trade it in on a new car, and let the new dealership pay it off.

I couldn't afford the Evo, and I have never owned a lancer before, so I went for the OZ.

I figure if I drive the OZ for 2 years, and still like it, perhaps the Evo will be more available, than I can trade it in for one

I might end up just keeping the OZ, and putting a t28 turbo in it, along with a FMIC. Which should make up for some of the hp jump from my previous car to this one.





So far, I do like the lancer btw

 

I don't know if I speak for everyone but in response to the "everybody hates hondas" comment I want to say that I found Honda owners to be extremely arrogant and condescending to other car owners. I had a 99 mirage 2 door de that I was trying to hook up and went to a performance store. The guy acted like I was wasting his time looking for parts on my 1.5L engine. Anyway after that encounter and a few others with the Honda folks saying Mitsu was crap. I decided that I would make them eat those words.

Sadly I was forced to sell my Mirage but along came the Lancer at that time with a more powerful engine and similar enough to the Mirage that all the tuning knowledge I had learned could be applied to it. The 4 doors was also a plus on convenience too. I visited that Honda tuning store again after some mods and to my surprise I actually got a compliment and I have hardly cracked the box of available goodies yet. It should be fun to see what I can make of the car.

Anyway that's my story.

You know, as an Evo owner I am pretty excited about the lancer refresh (or is it remix?) and the wagon that's coming out next year. 160 hp seems pretty darn good...

 

I bought my Lancer because it's a fresh alternative. This is my first opportunity to buy a car and play with upgrades, and there was no way I was going to buy a Honda. I wanted something a little rarer than a Civic, and the only other car I even thought about at the time of my decision was a Mazda MP3.

 

i used to have a 2001 volkwagen jetta TDI (those of you who dont know that mean turbo DEISLE induction)
it was 90 hp and soun ded like a school bus plus it was an automatic
i loved the car to death
but it was to slow no modds and automatic

so i traded it in for the over powered** lol lancer cause i went from 90hp to 120hp big jump
plus it ran on gas and it was bright and yellow
i was the first person to buy one in my town
and i remained that way for a wile cause i hadnt seen any others
plus all the people around here who does have one is like older and they dont mod it
so im the only really modded lancer around
beside my two friend that just bought theres
mine not underpowered anymore either

 

I used to have a 98 civic hatchback and i did alot of mod to the car. But sadly i had 4 accident with the civic, i guess i had no luck with the car so i traded it in for the 03 Lancer OZ. I was gonna buy another civic but i decided not to since Civic's are like everywhere here , so i want to be different from everybody else. And i love this car very much. All i did was put the new deck, EVO VII grill and spoiler. and i think it's a lot better than all those fully modified Civics!!
