i have gotten.......wow that's a nice evo before........when i drive an 04 OZ....


the best time had to be one the freeway.....going about 40.i was rolling side by side with a guy in an elise. I rolled down my windows and gave him a thumbs up sign shouting "AWESOME CAR"

Then he proceeded the same thing to me " AWESOME EVO"


I just looked............and sped off i was scared he was gonna try to run me, then realize......what the fork that aint no evo

 

those happened time to time to me too, I was driving by and this mexican dude was like "damn i like your car ess'e, those thing is fast right homeboy?" and i was like "hell yeah man, i just smoke a mustang GT just few minute ago" and he gave me thumbs up and me and my buddy were laugh like hell!! Made my day though

 

I dunno...I've had that happen here but these guys were actually the mechanics and they were talking to a girl with a celica that was gettin an awd swap done...

 

I get it a ton too. When I got out of the library one day a group of kids were standing around my car pointing at the OZ rims and my sole sticker, RRM of course.

When I walked up to them it was all evo this and evo that and how this kid was modding his volvo station wagon to drift. i saw it when i was pulling out too, and it had a huge "Drift" decal at the top of the windshield

and i can't tell you how many people rev at me and give me all types of static. the lancer, even the base lancer, makes driving an interesting experience.

 

Some rednecks thought my car was a Mercedes.

I was at a test & tune autocross event and while I was changing the wheels of the car, one of the lugs broke off (not the first time). Anyway, we were in hick country of Indiana, which is basically the whole state, but I had to take it to a shop in a really small town around there. The only place that had availability was this run down shop with a couple rednecks running it...I talked to the owner, who was a really level headed and nice guy, and told me to bring the car into the garage. When i pulled up, his friend who is not a mechanic there said, "Daaaang is that one of dem Mercedes?!" I drive a normal Lancer

 

^ He got confused between the tri-diamond and the star emblems... LOL

 

I was talkin to the guy at Megan racing last week, and someone came in to buy coilovers for there evo and returned them because they found out they had an ES.

THAT'S how dumb people are

 

yea ppl are wierd i had my car parked in my girls driveway and i guess the pre-teen kids that live around there are like nice car is it a evo. and i was like no its a regular lancer. they were confuse... and i had subi's tring to race me thinking that i was a evo but i just guess they cant tell...that its not a evo i dont got it looking like one its all stock only droped and rims... o well lol

 

yeah.. I think almost all lancer owners get it.... even stock. I did stock. and now that I have a CF hood and such people think its an evo VII. I get the "dude, how did you get that street legal over here?".. and thats not even with a evo conv. I cant imagine what you guys with evo conversions get.

This new guy at work was talking to me about my car and I told him it was slow. His reaction was "shiiii* those evos are fast" I said, no its just a lancer. haha

 

I've had someone tell me "Man I thought Evo's were fast. Whats wrong with it?" before

You seriously don't! I had a 50-60 year old dude drive up next to me in an STi telling me I had a nice car when I was in the parking lot. Asked me how many horses and if I had gotten a flash. When he heard "about 90, and I don't think my slow *** car needs a flash" he just looked at me like I stepped off of a spaceship. He sped off, what a cool guy.

 

I had a girl at Target come up to me in the parking lot as I was walking inside and told me she really liked my skyline she always wanted one!!!!!!
