Pod filter issues!

hey guys,

i just installed a pod filter and the car was running rough, so i reset the ecu , and now when i start the car it runs very rough and constantly stalls. i know it should run rough and then settle down. with the aircon on it will idle fine for a few minutes and then stall, without aircon it will stall unless i hold my foot on the accelerator. is there anything else i could try?

i took the car for a drive before i reset the ecu and the power is very uneven, the car will rev fine until about 3500rpm and then there is a deadspot in the power, and then about 4000rpm it will pick up again.

any help would be nice, i know this should be in the engine tech page but i need a quick response as i am in a hurry.

thanks

Try resetting the ECU again and don't touch it, let it idle for a few minutes. Could be a loose connection or a leak.

I wouldn't, if it's not idling right something is obviously wrong. What other mods do you have? An intake shouldn't do this.

i have only had the car for a few weeks, this is the only mod. is there any procedure when resetting the ecu? i think i read somewhere about either having or not having the aircon on. i have searched but cant find anything significant. all connections are fine, i'll go see if i can find any leaks.

All you do is remove the negative terminal from the battery, leave it for 10 minutes, hook it back up and then start the car. Did you hit the MAF or anything when installing the filter?

Go back to stock, see if the problem persists.

possibly, i had to take of the air sensor when installing the pod filter. but i was gentle, dont think i bumped it or anything. how tough are they? i tightened up the connections so there shouldn't be any leaks, i'll go give it another go. thanks

Unless you bent the honeycomb it should be fine.

i just took it for a drive, it idles fine now. but between 4000rpm and 5000rpm it hesitates a bit, but hopefully after a bit of driving it should be fine. one of the little honey combs was a tiny bit bent, but it was like that when i bought the car. thanks for your help guys and if anyone has anymore info about the hesitation let me know.
