Though I know RRM makes great products for the Lancer, it's just not a good platform for this sorta hobby. I'm just familiar with Hondas, so that's I relate to them. But to answer a previous question, torque could range from 220-250 setup dependent. Lag would obviously depend on the setup as well. Our Honda aftermarket is just so more supportive and easier to work with.

Get a CRX, drop in a D-series (just cuz they're cheaper), and boost in totally stock form (with a good tune) up to 220+ hp. And that'd be less than $4k... Get forged rods and Vitara pistons and turn up the boost up even more.

A lot of it is just figuring out what you want. If you want to make a car as fast as possible for cheap, the lancer is not for you. By all means go with SLVROZ_03's advice and get a honda, you can get those things screaming with only a little money. If you just want something fast out of the box, a bike is a good choice or something like an SRT-4, evo or WRX. If you like your lancer and want to make it faster, then do that.

I love my Lancer, but really, if I could go car shopping again, I'd probably be looking for a WRX. It's closer to an evo than my ES is. But I wouldn't say that around my car, she'd run me over.

I haven't heard anything bad about them except in terms of their owners.

Don't get an SRT-4, they are crap cars. They don' drive to well. Get a WRX instead. Way better car.

I love honda, and you should probably know that D & B series motors are kinda outdated. K20 and K24's now rule the N/A where B once was, but frankenstien a LS/V-tec and boost, you should then start wearing a neck brace if you start ripping it 1st to 3rd. good luck.

I am just disappointed with how poorly my car responded to boost as compared to their Hondas. I am going to see if i can buy back my old EF hatch and save this piece as my daily beater.

Only the 6 speed has tranny problems and even then it's not that common.
