Need advice for My 2003 Lancer ES

I recently bought a 2003 Lancer ES as a family car, but recently I've been wanting to add things to it--to kinda spice things up. I was originally thinking about an underlight kit, or maybe an upgraded sound system---but I think that the Lancer deserves more than that. I'm not at all into performance--as far as I'm concerned the Lancer is plenty fast enough compared to other cars that I've had in the past; so I'm thinking along the lines of visual appeal or audio appeal----does anyone have any suggestions?

P.S. I forgot to mention the fact that I'm currently the head of household and am working with a very, very, very tight budget.

Thanks!

Search the vendor, Private/For Sale forums to see what everyone is selling. You can probably get stuff for cheap, like a spoiler, OZ stock body kit, Evo grill, eyelids, you get the point! Check them out......the stuff is cheap and dependable! Happy hunting

NEVER undercar neons with a Stock ES...
You'll be able to find all the shiznit you need @ Road///Race Motorsports.

Lowering springs+rear swaybar+perches(for look & ride quality), and then maybe stock OZ wheels/body kits/rear spoiler (lots of ppl r selling those REAL CHEAP @ Private For Sale)

and then maybe some real cheap white headlight bulbs from eBay...(like mine.. )

Is it a bad idea to install a neon underlight kit to a Lancer ES? Why?

car is not lowered, lights wont be able to hit the floor hard, thus it will look kinda blur, not really *kool*..
and, there were ppl saying abt undercar neons installed on stock springs, the tubes will show, which is darn stupid and fugly (too high)...

Thanks for the responses so far, I have to be honest though and say that I don't have the slightest idea about lowering a vehicle or installing. Is there anywhere that I can look to get info. about these things--I know that in the loong run it would be cheaper for me to do all of the work than to take it to someone. If I lower the car what should I watch out for- and what else will need to be modified to keep it "driveable" for my family?!?

I have my OZ as a stock commuter car so no bodykits or other stuff for me. The one performance mod I highly recommend is a strut tower brace. I just installed my RMR bar this week. Initial impression is that it tightens up the responsiveness of the car when cornering. Any 'slop' or looseness as well in the front end of the chassis from flex is gone as well.

The ES and OZ don't share the same lug pattern and that would be an expensive way to find that out.

If you want to concentrate mainly on looks, I'd suggest new wheels, springs, body kit; in that order.

i suggest u leather wrap ur sets to a specific color scheme u want and have the same scheme go all the way through. the leather is comfy and easier to clean then the cloth. get bigger rims better traction and saves u gas. take out the fins on the grill and replace with mesh. looks better and increase air flow. tint window. looks nice and reduce heat inside.

and about the underlights...it has to do with ricey and trust me u dont want ricey

if u get a body kit, u really dont have to lower ur car at first, but it does look better. I would tint the windows first, then intake, exhuast, rims, body kit, or springs.
