My 08 is now rally devirginized
This past weekend I finally, for the first time in over a year, got to run another rally. After dealing with a P.O.S. Toyota Camry for over a year, my new 08 Lancer performed wonderfully this weekend.

But this thread is more to talk about the handling and performance. I was actually shocked at just how well the car did being completely stock. We were coming down the last mountain from Bodfish back into the valley to Arvin and the car did amazing...
. The best way to describe the drive down was...I hate to compare, but imagine the turns from Initial D,
except the road overall was much tighter, we had a lot less room to move around. I was the 5th one out of the final standoff and my buddy and I decided to really push it out into the valley to make sure we had plenty of time to make the checkpoints (we had a lot of catching up to do, we were WAY behind due to some early mistakes
). Basically we hauled *** down the mountain and I was trying my hardest to get the car around these corners. When we first left there were two Subarus behind us, and soon they were nowhere in sight. I also caught up to a Miata that had left roughly 45 seconds before we had. The Lancer held its ground, not once did I feel like I was going to have any problems and we were weaving through turns very fast. The further along we got, the more confident in the car I became, the harder I pushed, and the more it held onto the road. At the end of the night I had a whole new level of respect for my car, it proved to be one hell of a contender.
Anyways...if you have a new Lancer and have yet to get it onto a track day, rally cross, autocross, rally or something....DO IT NOW. You need to push this car to see what it can do.
