ok i just changed mine out. i didn't get a chance to take photos. Although it is pretty easy. I do have one suggestion though

put a wedge underneath the pipe thingy that stick out. Because as soon as you begin to loosen the PCV, the top of the valve cover bends, it is really really felxable. I have drawn a little diagram to show you what i mean

I tried that too and it still was too tight. Did the thread on your old PCV screw all the way in or was it only a couple of threads ? and the new one did it go in all the way ? I think the OEM batch has bad or wrong threads and does not screw in properly into the pipe thingy.

yeh the OEM was a couple of threads off, and didn't tighten anymore. The new one fits perfecty. I may double check it though, cos when i start my car up, it seems a little rough, although it is getting better, so it may need "breaking in" or something

I don't think it need breaking in, check if it is loosing pressure somewhere like tightening the hose with your hand around the PCV to see if there is any change in the engine idling etc...

the pcv valve operates at heavy loads when a vehicle has the most blow-by in its engine. So if it is having a vacuum leak at idle and hesitating, its no good. You have either a defective valve or it is not installed properly...if you really don't know how to do it, why not take it to a mechanic and he will do it for probably less that a case of beer!

it's fine now. car starts up everytime.

i have a vacuum guage, and that reads perfect, so i assume it was something else.
I did do an oil change and seafoam most of my engine. So it was probably to do with that.

either way, i'm running perfect now
