and i liked it the only thing is i`m moving soon and where i`m moving is about 20-30 i need something that will work great on highways my budget is $110-140

from reading on here, most, if not all, of the ones in the price range are junk.

ya i know like i said i`m only willing to drop 100 -140 on it because i have plans to either go nuts and get my car modded the way i want or just go with eclipse that i`ve been looking for so its just temprary for now plus i don`t drive crazy on the roads.

 

i'll probably get flamed hard for this.. but for that price the best thing you can get is the Cobra XRS 9000+ Series....... its Not a Valentine... But it saved my *** a bunch of times... PLus i just moved to South florida and didnt know my way around and it has this cool digital compass on it/ cheap alternative for a GPS... not like thats gonna help u get away from cops but.. its the best radar for the money that u have

oh yeah.. and it eats K and Ka Band for Breakfast!!! all day everyday.... i was doin 60 in a 45 close to a mile away and it starts going nuts "KA ALERT!! KA ALERT!!.. Level 5!! but i didnt see the little piggy.. i pass by him hes behind some school / construction site... and i laughed... if i didnt have the damm thing i woulda got my ***** busted for speeding in a school zone!!.. so.. dont be scared to buy a new model cobra!

I mounted my radar detector right under the rearview mirror. I got a longer cig lighter plug and tucked it into the headliner, down the a-piller and under the dash . Did'nt take long, and you just see alittle of the cord.

I agree with the statement of you get what you pat for BUT there are exceptions. A buddy of mine got a cheap 40 dollar cobra from wallyworld from his GF as a present and it works REALLY good. Saved his a$$ many times. On the other hand my dad has one of the escort passports and I thought it would work better for the amount he dropped for it. I do like the valentines(?) because they do show you where the signal is coming from.

 

lol looks like we are all pointing you in the directions of getting a cobra.. lol..... there are actually a few radar detector forums... like an evoM for radar detectors im sure u can get advice from one of them
