with the pulley you can do what i did. I waited till i had to replace my accessory belts, then got a $20 underdrive mirage pulley, and just switched it out, cos i had to change my belts anyway. (mirage pulley needs new belts)

yeh def get your car paid off. The exhaust and intake mods will do you until you can save up enough money for a turbo, you can build a custom kit for under $2,000 so keep that in mind.

You planning on doing any suspension stuff?

damn ... and i just replaced all the belts when i replaced the timing belt and water pump.

*shrugs* i guess we'll see about the pulley for a while

definitely going to payoff before i go turbo, i've been reading up and figure i'll learn all i can until i can afford to do it.

i sort of figured my route was going to be:

intake/headers/exhaust/strut bars/pulley/piggyback/coilovers - then rims/lip kit/tint...

you know, get a little go - then do some show.

hey crypto, are you running a cherry bomb muffler? i don't know how it sounds on our cars but it sounded like *** when my friend had his tiburon and put one on.

i switched from a plain old canister-style to a dynomax muffler because of the unwanted attention from the noise. the dynomax one is a great choice and i definitely recommend a resonator if you're doing a header as well since the pitch changed drastically when i put my header on. for now i am too lazy and poor to take the car to a shop to get a resonator welded on. plus, i'm going to have a new downpipe fabricated if i take the car anywhere.

22stars: i have a video up on my youtube account of my car with the RRM pulley, intake, and the dynomax muffler on a 2.5" cat-back i'm talking about if you'd like an idea of the sound. you can hear i'm shifting around 5 grand since that's the only time the muffler is anything you could describe as "loud".

ok p0421 does have to do with the first o2 but... It is throwing an error usually because the second one is messed up, or they both read the same number. So the car throws a code when this happens and it assumes either the first cat is messed up or the first o2 is messed. There is a way around this. you could go mil eliminator or do what i did. I took my second cat and replaced it with a high flow and had a bung drilled out on the other side and installed the second o2 there. the car wants o2 cat o2 cat. it has no way to monitor the second cat so in essence mine goes o2 cat o2 out. I have the headers from RRM. As for why the RRM header is superior is because it is flow tested. If your guy will flow test this header go for it!

P0421 on stock manifold, that sounds like a recall doesn't it?

You aren't really thinking on this one.

The fact that it's flow tested MEANS NOTHING. If you flow test the RRM and then compare it to the flow test of another header and see that the RRM flows better, THEN it would make the RRM better.

That's like saying my Lancer is better than yours because I ran mine on a dyno and you didn't.

I think the "best" header is the RPW unit. It's also the most expensive and the hardest to get.

HAD IT. lost torque. good top end, grabbed the rrm in a trade. it doesnt take away that mush torque. top end is nice. got custom downpipe for 150. now it feels same. RPW was loud as hell though at wot.

rrm's unit by itself is inferior in design, quality is similar. both being good.

Plus it's cheaper and if you don't plan on going big there's no point in spending 500$+ to gain a few hp.

Agreed way to much money for the power. It's pointless imho, turbo or go home and burn your car. RRM is what? 280? much better imho, and it has a ceramic coating.

BUT, if u want header, downpipe and HFC. Buy rpw cuz its just premade. with everything.

RRM header is good if u want to go turbo though. thats the only reason i changed it.
