And the install was the RRM CEL eliminator! I've tried four times to get the O2 censor off and no luck. Long story short I talked to a guy at the dealership where I bought my Lancer and he said he would get it off so I waited around 3 hours for this guy to squeeze me in and he flaked on me. I ran down to Tire Kingdom and asked could they just break it loose for me and its like only a ten minute job.
The guy told me, "No, we don't do that. We only sell and put new ones on. We don't take them off"
That douche. I'm thinking "how do you get the new one on without taking the old one off" so I proptly left and rode 1 minute down the road to Midas told the guy my problem (seized O2) he talked to his manager, he said o.k., it was on a lift, and in the end a torch went up against that cat! The best part...they didnt even charge me! Within a minute that sensor broke loose and I took it from there...well like 2 a.m. later
This is how I roll

The O2 is finally out after months!

The cat was a little charred

And the O2 a little dented

What I seen and how I saw it...

I then greased that puppy up with anti-seize

In the dark with a flashlight...again

At long last that b!tch is in!!! I won!

If yours is seized in there, get the torch!
O.k. maybe that was blown out of porportion but none the least I had fun doing it! I love my Lancer! First thing in the morning (or afternoon)
I'm having that SES cleared!

I couldn't get mine loose either, I started rounding the thing off. What I ended up doing was cutting the wires so I could get the circle part of the wrench around the sensor so theres more pressure points blah blah blah to keep it from rounding off. After I was able to attack the sensor this way it came right off. Then I had to solder the wires back together in the end
but it turned off the dang light and it hasn't been back on sense
I'm glad you got yours to work too. You got a great deal by getting it off for free, even if they did bend the sensor a bit. Congrats on the install!
Cheers to something going wrong with any install, no matter what

I love companies/people that will actually help you out with some minor issue like that...I bet if you had to get some exhaust work done, they'd be your first stop now! Now if only I could find a place that could impact my pulley bolt off, and torque it back on or me w/o charging...since I'd do the work myself.
You need a special cut out socket to remove it properly without damaging the wires. It was pain to remove on Civic before too, use a leverage bar on the socket wrench makes it much easier.

I used that thing and that is what ended up stripping the corners in the first place.
I was spraying PB Blaster and using that socket and it started turning
So I kept turning and turning and it did not seem to get any looser, and I looked
That mother lover was rounding my edges!

I started trying to get the 2nd O2 sensor out to plug into the CEL eliminator. I felt the wrench started to slip and decided to stop before I ended up stripping it. Where did you get that nice little O2 socket tool at? Maybe that'll work for me instead of having to take it to a shop for removal.
Nice to see another person pwning that o2 sensor. I had to do it a couple of tries after my dad trying and after getting it out and putting my cel eliminator on I felt so manly that I went out and bought a steak

You can get the socket at Advance Auto Parts/Autozone also. While you are there you might as well pick up some PB Blaster as well. I have a feeling you are going to need it.
During my mission to take it off, a mechanic who works at a Dodge dealership gave me a can of some MOPAR branded stuff that is like PB/WD-40 but foams and sticks. That stuff is wonderful!
