Gran Turismo 3. (Not kidding). All the Evos in that game were so badass and fun. My old car was a P.O.S. beater, so I started looking for a new car. Hey, I find out that I can get the "Evo Jr." - and I can afford it on my crappy salary (poor college student at the time)!

So with dreams of Tommi Makinen in my head, I test drove and loved my little 2002 Lancer OZ in January of 2003. Fell in love, realized I could make the car payment, and there we went.

EDIT - OH YEAH! I have another Lancer!

Drove the 02 from 2003 to 2005, was pretty happy with it. Some problems here and there (me slamming into a curb, me getting run off the road into a ditch) combined with the local buddies who all had Subarus, I decided to try AWD. Had it, learned that Subaru is overrated, decided that I didn't want the Subie anymore.

So I started learning about the 2008s, saw how cool the CVT was, knew how much I loved my first Lancer, decided to come back. Went to the dealership, found a nice GTS in silver (cuz my OZ was silver) with S&S and CVT. Went for a test drive, loved it. Next thing I knew, I was trading in the Subaru (mods and all) that day. Never looked back (except for the fact that I'm still paying the CC bills for some Subaru parts I bought right before I gave up).

Because the monthly payment and insurance would be affordable. Plus it was the only nice looking car that I could find tat the time in my price range.

I love sporty cars, but being 6 foot 7, I don't exactly fit in a coup . I really liked the style of the lancer and being a sedan, I could actually sit comfortably. I just can't wait to upgrade to an evo... but thats years away

My old car was about to die, and I convinced my parents to let me get this instead. I wanted one because I saw the commercials and thought it was freaking sexy, and after test driving it, I loved it.

I got my car for a graduation present. My dad took me to a mitsu dealership and told me to pick out something from their selection. I picked the evo but he told me that it was too expensive, so it came down to the new eclipse and the lancer oz. I liked the oz because i could actually fit people in the car. Didn't like how the manual eclipse gt rode, so i got the auto lancer, all they had.

hondas were too expensive for what they were selling..

and nissan and toyota were out of the question..

was never really interested in domestics -

the price was right and so were the miles.... i miss my ES. I should have just fixed the front suspension problems instead of selling it... i would have about an extra 370 bucks to spend on BS

was getting deployed and ex had our one car. Wanted my own car ( evo ), but knew i couldn't afford one. Looked at an eclipse, but couldn't get dealer under $450/mo. Saw lancer oz, test drove and thought it was pretty quick ( dopey me ). Loved the color and got a good deal. Car stayed at friends house when i was gone.

Drove off lot and been driving ever since.

Driving a Jeep Wrangler to school which was at that time 30 miles away everyday would have cost too much. I got the Lancer because I loved the Evo but didn't want to pay for the insurance and didn't know enough about cars at the time.

Why I'm keeping my Lancer is because I love it. I've pretty much decided to keep my Lancer, turbo it and then someday go back and get a Wrangler.
