They blocked the timing light until after your passed 60' thus no 60' time. What was your reaction time on the second run? to get a semi accurate time for this run take the 3.9 second reaction time subtract the reaction time from your second run, and add the difference to the 14.030. I woudl guess about 17.something was your correct time.

That's not what I meant, but anyway.
I've been on this board for 5 years. Not once did we see somebody run 14s with your type of setup.

Now just face it. You did NOT run 14 seconds.

my r/t was .502 on my second run. i can't really use the time from my second run because i missed a shift. too bad we only got two runs.

so what this comes down to is that someone stood there and so my time didn't start when i left the line but until after i'd gotten 60'? that's ****ing stupid! my first run ever and i have to deal with that... lame.

thanks for clearing it up for me though. i'm PISSED.

never mind this one!

see if i go back there ever again for a run... grr.

edit: i took the video off my youtube account... if it's not right i don't want it to be up there... even if it makes my car look better than it is. maybe i will go back sometime and get an ACCURATE time.

if only we could get N/A lancers pulling low 14s.

Hey man, I give you props for taking it to the track and backing everything up with slips and then going the extra mile and video taping it. Regardless of your time, good job in representing how it should be done. And there's always FI right???

now that i understand how the timing works and what happened to my run i will probably be out the window going "STAY THE F OUT OF MY LIGHTS!" the next time i go up there... if i even do... two hours on the road and then $20 to get in and they jack my time up like that.

I might be wrong so someone should verify but I always thought tracks dont literally count the time it takes you to start and end on the drag strip

I thought it was a whole math formula like when you trip the light then it times to 1/8 mark or whatver and speed etc and then it does a formula to post a time. I may sound a little crazy but I thought thats how it figures this out so using a stopwatch might yield different times

but yeah in any case low 14's is definetely not possible with those mods. I needed a turbo to hit that

Sorry to tell you (like I'm sure others have already), that run was messed up...that time isn't possible unless the lancer weighs less than my 2000lb Civic! Fun to think that Lancer N/A 14's were possible though!

I call BS on that time, turboed lancers can barely pull that off and they have a lot more power than you. From the sounds of it something went wrong with the timing system.

oh and yes the timing can get thrown off a good amount if she was messing with it cause I had that plastic crap come undone from underneath my engine and it was flopping around tripping the lights depending on how it hit the light or if it didnt hit the light

I was wondering all night why I couldnt stage properly and my times were off by as much as a second! until I saw video and realized the plastic came undone.
