The LS and OZ both have advantages over the ES, which to my annoyance when purchasing, both go different ways. The LS can't come with a stick and doesn't have a decent looking body kit, good looking interior, and doesn't have the OZ rims which I think are more valuable than people give them credit for, but the OZ can't have the ABS, front side air bags, 6 speaker audio, etc.

Personally, I picked the OZ because the stock audio wasn't going to stay in there and the stick/sunroof combination is only possible with the OZ. I do miss ABS, but I definitely don't miss the general ugliness of the LS (my opinion is that I'm quite fond of the OZ exterior and especially interior) and I definitely don't miss the automatic.

i went with the ES because it was about 3 grand cheaper, and for that much money you could turbo it and beat the living **** out of an OZ "Rally" (cough....cough.... bull****) edition lancer.

I went with the es cause it better fit my budget and the oz didn't really fit for the plans I have. I don't even think I have seen an LS up here yet except at the dealership.

Decent looking body kit? Well it obviously lacks the tiny skirts. Interior doenst look too much differernt that the Oz's except for the darker wood trim that the ES and non leather wrapped steering wheel. Well those OZ rims arent all that great, but the LS does come with different 15 inch rims. Dont be so blind as to saying that the LS with wing (more similar to OZ), is any more differnt and ogly than the OZ.

When I was trying to get my Lancer 2 years ago, the dealership I went to said they could special order the OZ with ALL of those options. Granted it was a salesman at a car dealership, but I wonder if he was telling the truth?

I've got an OZ and think it was a much better choice than the ES. By the way, hows your "turbo" ES treating you?

Don't get me wrong, his car is a beaut. We all know that, we saw it on the front page for 3 months. But he said he got the ES to save 3k and throw in a turbo. I'm just givin' him some ****.

I know, I know

personaly, I'm not touching my engine for 3-5 years... too risky I think. My dealership is an absolute JOKE when it comes to warranty issues.

Karlen has an LS and we have compared hers to my OZ many times. They have the same suspension (even the rear sway bar), while the ES is different. LS only comes in automatic but it does have A-pillar speakers and a nice dashboard trim . OZ has the cool brush trim and it also comes with AC and cruise control So yeah, I'd say they are about equal, just one is for luxury cruisers, the other is for more fun "real" driving. As for the ES, it's a bit lower, but has tons of potential for tuners!

edit: oh yeah, the ABS thing. Good for normal driving, bad for racing (IMO). ABS with a good traction control system might be different, but I believe it's still hard to drift when an engine cuts out the moment you lose traction (like my camaro did )

The only lancer i was about to buy was 1) Yellow 2) stick shift
OZ is the only trim that offers that, and if you were one of the first to buy a lancer it wouldn't have cost you as much. I got my OZ for 15k.
