I'd agree with most people about not spending it on performance. If you do, make it something that changes the noise or look of the car as well, like an exhaust or springs. With that muffler and header choice, I'd would just go with the muffler because that will make the car sound good and you can see it. The header won't make it any faster, and you can't see it, and it will be really loud.

Anyways sly made an excellent suggestion with getting a Greddy evo 2 and headers which i think i might go into.

I do have a question someone told me that the 03 lancers have projector headlights is this true if so who has them ? i have searched but found nothing.

EDit ok i found this lol

is this it ?
Naw those are just blacked out headlights which you can do yourself. Its a lot easier than you would think and if you do it right you will be glad you saved your money and did it yourself. With everything mine cost me about 15 bucks. IMO the DIY mods will make you feel a lot better about yourself and will help you learn your car.

With that being said you could do things like paint some interior pieces, get some Niteshades spray and tint your side markers and things like that. Get creative with it and remember one thing. It is your car and if people don't like it then that shouldn't bother you.

Another thing you could do is get a catback or just an axleback exhaust, whatever you are into. You could also just put that money into a nice system. I would get a new deck, amp and speakers and go from there.

A good question to ask you would be, what are you into? Off the line acceleration? Looks? Sound system? Handling? Let us know and there are plenty of people on here that will be glad to help you out.

What are some specs on your car? What year and trim is it? What have you done to it already?

I have a 03 oz lancer its stock i guess i should go into detail.

I have 03 lancer oz rally stock i have subs, amp and system already from my previous car so i`m good on that. My dad tints windows so thats actually my next plan with in the week or 2.

I wanted to get something toally new that i haven`t had that would show off the car. Like exuast may be a body kit IDK.

what i`m trying to say i want to spend the 900 and be satisfied but i`m short of ideas.

i never said get a bodykit. i think something like tints or rims would be a very good place to start thou. i don't see how upgrading looks are limited to high schoolers

Body kits looks good at first but tend to get beat up very fast if you are not extremely cautious especially if the roads are pretty rough where you live.

Exhaust would give you a nice sound and SOME high-end torque, mostly sound though.

Maybe you could go with a short ram or cold air intake.

You already have a nice lip kit and a LOT nicer interior over what us ES guys have so you are good there.

If you want to show off the car why don't you get a nice set of rims. That is most people's first mod and will definitely change the look of your car.

Yeah if you want to be satisfied, get rims and maybe springs. Completely changes the look of the car.

All these super lame responses. Do what you like. really. Would it be smart to save money, of course. Ill save money when im dead. kidding of course.

I would suggest megan coilovers. Unlike amby. I love my Ksport coilovers and only wish I would have gotten them sooner. I dont mind the harsh ride and I love the handling. Coupled with my big brake kit. Im all over the twistys. If you want a mod that looks good and performs. coilovers.

It all depends on what your goal is for your car.

HFC - high flow cat isnt something I would suggest at all. Very little gains for the $$$. not needed unless your turbo and want to stay legal. Or have to replace your cat (might as well upgrade while your at it)...

I agree with mitsuozboi 100%. Do what you want to do. All of the suggestions are ligitimate though. And there is something to be said for saving your money. Whatever path you take do it for you and you only. And there is always the cheap and free stuff.

Just do a clean job of whatever you end up doing.

I have a quick question for you. (elaina) Did you mention that you saved for 2 years and you had $900.00? If it took you 2 years to save $900.00 then I strongly believe that you need to save the money. In the long run you will most likely regret buying something.

I regret buying 2 or 3 things and now I'm going back and spending the money to redo and to correct my errors.

Then again its your money spend it where you want to.

Yeah it took me 2 yrs don`t get me wrong i`m not broke i`m a spend thrift lol i spend alot of money else where.

I`ve paid all my credit cards so i actually don`t owe any money right now. I have money saved up and alot of money invested too. Every month i was saving a bit for my car because i wanted to do something with it that would change its look but i guess 900 isn`t enough from what i have been reading and shopping so i will save more and just out totall since i don`t owe on my cc`s anymore it would be alot more every month.
