To change the look of your car completely would just take rims alone. I got my wheels with tires shipped to my door for $999. Hope you're happy with whatever you end up doing, and do let us know.
I got a great deal on some bronze 15x7 konig networks. I bought them from someone I met right here on evom. I paid 400 plus he sent me skunk2 lugnuts for free. Keep your eyes open and something will pop up. I do think that lancers look 100% better lowered.
Oh yeah you single....?

I believe a couple people on here got their Megan coliovers for $850 or less...so that's personally what I'd spend it on in your case. Then later, rims and tires and have some fun at some auto-x events!

Lowering does make all the difference. But some don't like the ride quality. I personally can't stand Lancers with larger rims and no drop... makes the Lancer look like a SUV Sedan concept car.
Theres a lancer here in town with 18's on it and I never knew how to explain it. The SUV Sedan concept car is about perfect. I figured that since no one else has thrown a line at her then I would be the first.
Also her daddy does window tint and I need this horrible tint job on my car taken care of.
wheels or drop.. best change you can do.
I had a body kit once before.. and i ended up taking it off a year later.. dont do it youll save a lot of hassle
and if drop, do coils.. or springs if you dont mind your shocks blown..
no performance mods (except turbo but you said you dont have that cash so none at all), lancers do not respond well to them. all theyll do is just mod the "sound" the car produces

i have larger rims on my lancer but the thing is i can't srop it since they fir in perfectly, but sometimes when i make a faster turn or trn uphill the tires scratch the wheel well, but still im on stock suspension
Get coilovers. You can have it at the same height, but the car will handle 10,000x better.
