A lot of thinking, need some opinions
i thought it was interesting how your list has cars like 350z, IS300 etc and has the corolla as well lol. plus isn't corolla a fwd and u wanted to stay away from that right? i would say the 350z or the IS300 would be good. one of my friends used to have an is300 and he put a good amount of time and money in that car and it turned out great. plus its 4doors and spacious for familiy too if u want something like that.
Does that mean I should choose the 350z?
Yeah I mean that was my reasoning. That I could get into a not terribly used 350z with close to 3 times as much power and a much better drivetrain for little more then I'm paying for my NEW lancer now.

If you can get a cheap 350 and don't need room, go for it. I'm sure you'd be happy with it. And it's more luxurious and newer than the other cars on your list so it would be nicer and more reliable (hopefully). But if you aren't looking for something too nice, the Lexus is nice and the subaru. 240 is a good suggestion too, but those can be had for less than 3 grand running, but usually don't look too nice inside or out. But can be made very fast with a swap.
Well since a lot of you are suggesting to go for the Z, and most of you know about those kinds of cars, or know people with those cars, is there anything I should know about before picking a 350z up? Anything that would make me reconsider getting one?
Well lucky me i have the lancer and my sister and my dad have 350z's so ya the difference between them are pretty out there. 350's arent that roomy but they seem like a great project to go for.
Well I drove a 06' 350Z, 08' FJ Cruiser, and a 08 5.7 Tundra. The FJ made me want to get out of the import scene all together. The Z felt o.k. but it doesn't have the power that I had expected. The Tundra was well.... a fast truck with a huge sticker price.
