If You Didnt Buy a Lancer...
i think i should've looked around more... mayb i could've bought a used evo or something.. but at the same time.. i knew if i bought a fast car i would be paying a **** load for insurance.. so im pretty satisfied.. i wish my insurance was lower though...
I have them and I still find myself using the console gearbox to "shift" because the paddles just feel unnatural...so they're only partially ghey because I can still use the regular shifter. But a straight-up flappy paddle gearbox like on a Lambo or Ferrari....totally ghey.

Driving around town, I'll use the "gear shifter" because it's a little more "normal" to me.
Autocrossing, I just couldn't get into the "forward is upshift, backward is downshift" mentality as I was trying to focus on driving. The paddles worked MUCH better when I was focusing on driving.
But that's just me.
^ I agree with both of you guys, I was hyped up about the paddle shifters when I first got the car. Now i'm always using the gearbox to shift, because it just feels natural with one hand down on the gearbox.
well i didnt pick out my lancer..my brother bought it and it kinda got laid onto me when he oculdnt afford the payments..so now i have it and am paying for it..kinda wish i had something with a little bit of get up n go and this just isnt that something

I don't regret buying my Lancer, but I just did not feel like dumping the money into it to get the power that I wanted. The Lancer is a good car. It handles well, I think the 02/03 look great, but the power does not exist.
