I never regreted owning a lancer, it was by far the best car in my price range at the time. I do regret the money I spent on useless things however.

i think i should've looked around more... mayb i could've bought a used evo or something.. but at the same time.. i knew if i bought a fast car i would be paying a **** load for insurance.. so im pretty satisfied.. i wish my insurance was lower though...

The evo is great, but if you want a fun car for not a bad price test drive a new GTI. It's quick and fun.

No regrets. My RA was the best car for the money at the time, and I still like it three and a half years later.

Depends on the situation.

Driving around town, I'll use the "gear shifter" because it's a little more "normal" to me.
Autocrossing, I just couldn't get into the "forward is upshift, backward is downshift" mentality as I was trying to focus on driving. The paddles worked MUCH better when I was focusing on driving.

But that's just me.

^ I agree with both of you guys, I was hyped up about the paddle shifters when I first got the car. Now i'm always using the gearbox to shift, because it just feels natural with one hand down on the gearbox.

I don't regret buying my Lancer, but I just did not feel like dumping the money into it to get the power that I wanted. The Lancer is a good car. It handles well, I think the 02/03 look great, but the power does not exist.
