First of all, the G35 beats out the 350Z in almost all catagory's for pretty much the same price.

3rd fastest car of 2007.... Nissan 350Z 0-60 in anywhere between 5.2 and 6.0 depending on the source. Last I checked there were these cars:

Pontiac GTO- 4.7 sec.
BMW 335- 5.3
Z4- 4.8
Cadillac CTS-4.6
Cobalt- 5.7
Chrysler 300C- 5
Charger- 5
S2k- less than 6
Jeep Grand Cherokee- less than 5
IS350- 5.6
MazdaSpeed6- 5.4
Grand Prix- 5.6
Sky-5.5
Passat- 5.6

Just a few cars to compare to. Overall, I would rock a 350Z if it was given to me, but for my money there are much better options.

Twin turbo with partially built motors the most I have ever seen a 350Z run is about 12 seconds in the quarter.

 

Obviously the list isn't complete, for godsake the Veyron isn't on it, but it does show that even those people who get to drive things like ferraris, porsches, etc. like the 350Z. I agree there are other options out there but my main beef was with the 350Z being called a bad car. I'm sorry but people who drive econo cars shouldn't be looking down on a sports car , it's like a guy eating McDonalds talking poorly of fillet mignon.

 

I never said it was a bad car. You are mistaking what I sad. It IS a very good car but not a true "sports car" to me. To other people, ya, it might be. It is a very sporty car. To me sports cars are Evo's, STi's, M3's/M5's, Porsche's, NSX's, anything BUILT to race pretty much.

 

How can you consider cars like the evo and the sti, which are basically just 4-door econocars on steroids, sports cars but dismiss a RWD, two seater car like the 350Z that's just as fast as the evo and STi, handles just as well and is a true drivers car? You might as well take the NSX off the list since it's actually slower than the 350Z.

 

If you actually think a 350Z could keep up with an Evo or STi you are seriously mistaken.

The evo is 4.6 seconds faster on the track. That is a HUGE difference.

Ya, between those 2 cars I would definately go with the Z. Or why not just an evo?

 

The 350Z is just as fast in competent hands as the evo. Yes the evo and STi are fast, but they are not sports car, they are just fast sedans. On paper the 350Z is faster than an NSX, at least all the links I found suggest that. I don't see why you keep on pushing that the 350Z is a bad car or in any way a lesser car than the evo or the STi.
