350z is a great looking, great handling, quick car that can be made fast with spray or boost if u need it.

i would definately rather have one over a base lancer if u dont need 4 doors.

unless u got a steal u will prolly lose money if u trade it in. if u got a great deal or dont care if u lose a few grand on the trade more than likely then go for it. get what YOU want.

You give me a stock evo, you can take a stock 350Z and I will show you how I can destroy you. I am not saying that the 350Z is a bad car but it sure as hell isn't a great "sports car" as proven with all of the times. The 350Z compared to other sports cars responds poorly to mods. With forged internals, twin turbo, etc. a 350Z can't even break past the 11 sec. 1/4 mile barrier.

A 350Z is still a sports car and a hell of an upgrade from a lancer. A car is only as good as it driver and more importantly, only good in specific areas. The evo is a stunningly quick car but the interior is crap, it's hardly exactly a cruising car, it attracts a lot of attention from the wrong people, it's top end sucks and it's not a sports car. If the guy likes the 350Z, he should get a 350Z, telling him "oh that car sucks, get X" is like saying "oh yellow gold sucks, you should get white gold" even though they are both upgrades from pewter.

Amby, you are misunderstanding me. Get whatever he likes, the 350Z is still a hell of a car. I am just saying if you want to get a real sports car I would not go with the 350Z. For the same price there are much better cars in that department. And yes, the Evo and STi are sports cars. They ARE rally cars in every way possible.

my gts corners faster than my brothers g35 coupe and looks way better. if the evo x with the same 4b11 - t has 50 more tq stock than a 350z so i doubt the lancer would be maxed at 300hp. according to my insurance the evo is a sportscar. i would definatly choose a 350z over a suby any day though.

A rally car is not a sports car, it's a rally car. Something like an STI or an Evo are great cars, but they're not sports cars. A miata is a sports car, a viper is a sports car, a BMW M5 is not a sports car. High performance does not make a vehicle a sports car otherwise you'd have to classify an SRT-4 or an SRT-10 as a sports car.
dsrttigr, your brother must not be a good driver because the G35 is a superior car to a lancer. You can make a honda civic have 400 hp but that doesn't make it better than an Evo.

The Lancer is an ecobox with 150 hp while the 350z is a sports car with 300 hp.

Ummmmm, last time I checked rallying is a form of motor sports and Evo and STI are part of it. Anything that can accelerate fast, corner at high speeds, and just go plain fast is a sports car in my book. 2 doors doesn't automatically make a sports car. Sports car is all about performance. And how do your "sports car" guys feel when they get beaten by a 4 door "econobox" car that corners better than a Lamborghini?

Using just performance as a classification techniques leads you to a lot of problems. You can make a honda civic faster in everyway than an evo, but it's not a sports car. Are the evo and the sti amazingly quick cars? Hell yes, I like both those cars but they're not sports cars. Driving an evo is a lot different than driving a Porsche or a Lambhorgini. My dad's 1990 miata simply feels different than my WRX. Is my car faster? Yes. Can it handle better? Yes. Does this make my car a sports car? Nope. I'm not trying to detract from the evo or the STi, I'm simply saying they're no more sports cars than a large dog is a wolf.

350z all the way!!

I remember guy in a white 350z almost crashed because I didn't let him over and I wasn't paying attention he accelerated and almost hit a truck moving into the lane in front of him. All I saw was a white blur. But the 08 Lancer is still a nice package.

im not comparing stock vs stock, my lancer has rrm grips, better wheels and tires to help with the cornering his g35 is all stock. im just saying take the difference in price and use that cash to mod the lancer and i think it will be better or close to the 350z and u can fit more peeps.

off topic. ive been playing need for speed pro street for pc and the evo x is super fast.

i voted for the z just because it would be a better car for performance but if your a family guy (like me) i would go for the lancer.
