Depends on where you are from, but that fender panel alone costs 1500 just for the sheet metal. And that one is hosed enough that they'll have to replace it. Look at the bright side though... a carbon fiber hood is cheaper than a production one so you can get one of those for free basically :-) But I'd say all told it'll probably run in excess of 3 grand.

When I wrecked my Tacoma. The right side was messed up like yours, but a little more worse. I have pictures but I need a scanner. Anyways, the headlight was busted, hood was bent a little, whole passenger side was smashed htough... looked like someone hit me from the side.. the front and rear axles were bent, tires went flat, brake fluid leaked, uhmm... windshield cracked, passenger window fully smashed, airbags deployed, my tonneau cover was cracked.. man so much stuff... it was $9000+ damage... they just totaled it.

Look at this way...it's a reason to get a carbon fiber hood and a new bumper...

My wife actually hit a girl with my Lancer. The girl pulled out in front of her so it wasn’t my wife’s fault. The damage consisted of a new hood, new front bumper, new passenger headlight, new tires (had a gash in it) and a new windshield (that actually took a rock flying out of a dump truck shhh don’t tell… ). Grand total was about $4500.

And on a happy note the girl that pulled out in front of my wife was taken of her parents insurance because that was her 5th wreck in two years that was her fault!

I really have to look into that CF hood. Sounds like a good idea.
I thought I heard if the cost of repairs is half of what your car is worth than it is officially totaled. Am I wrong with this?

I think it's closer to 75% of the value.

Sorry to hear about that man, I hope you're OK...physically, emotionally I'm sure you've never had so many violent old lady beatings in your dreams.

Anyways I just thought I'd drop my duece pesos considering I've had similar damage. I can tell you right now that you're looking at a minimum of $3,500 in total costs. Now I say minimum because the online ins. companies are notorious for penny pinching and not agreeing to pay for factory parts and or new parts. I would say be careful with what you agree to from YOUR OWN ins company and make sure you go over every expense PER PART and know you are getting new, dealership parts. Do not agree to refurbished or your own repaired parts. I can tell you that I have FULL coverage and through State Farm the bill would probably come close to $4,500-$5,000. No ****tin man.

Lastly, don't **** around when it comes to that axle. Make sure ti is replaced 100%. That's the type of damage that constitutes a lemon and/or salvage title.

Good luck.

the hood is only $300 a cf one is at least like what$395 +shipping insurance will not pay shipping on aftermarket. oem stuff is thru dealers which absorb the cost of shipping in there price 2 body shops so insurance companys pay that price for oem cuse it includes it. not for aftermarket sadly....

went to the bodyshop today, which is an official Mitsubish Repair Shop, and finally got my estimate. An unbelievable $5200 and a couple lil' ones I can't remember. WOW that's an amazing amount for such a little incident. They allready started work because I have full coverage from State Farm and they allready gave the green light for the shop. I'm shocked it is that much even though I don't really care cause I don't have to pay it. Good guesses though.
