Magnetic drain plug do help. Just get one that is $10

I use the mag oil plug, but I only paid 10 bux for it. Doesnt hurt to have but its true if you do find metal shavings youre pretty much in trouble already. I use it on my drift car and its never covered in metal, but I change the oil every event.

Ive noticed stock transmissions on some cars use magnets in their plugs so they must work to some extent.

I use em just in case, theyre cheap

i think that the biggest advantage of having a magnetic drain plug is so you can drop the plug, drain the oil, and then stick the plug on the pan while the last of the oil drains out so you don't put it down and then walk around for half an hour going "dammit where'd i put that plug..."

hmmm, never even thought of that! only cause the car I have it on has an aluminum oil pan
