With more displacement there will be power increase. 10% is more then enough to be felt by the butt dyno. It is a welcomed addition, all be it a little late from Mitsu, 09 vs 08. Putting that bad note behind us, its basically the same car geared the same way. I gave a bit of a visual inspection at the dealership even though it was raining it looked like the exhaust components are the same as the 08, which means that there is a added performance benefit to upgrading the exhaust. More importantly the 2.5" caliber inlets may be more successful hear then the 2.25"

Maybe we should start an official "just bought a 2009 lancer" thread. I want to hear from people who actually own them or have driven them. I know I'm buying one as soon as I can get my hands on it here in the states.

We don't know. Hell, if you buy one tomorrow, you can probably put "First 2009 GTS on EvoM" in your signature, if you follow my meaning...

you're happy with the car, others aren't so enthused that their 08 got replaced with a more powerful car the next year...
Again, I'm going to disagree with you. Lots of people THINK they feel massive gains. Lots of people THINK they feel nothing. The human "butt dyno" is a great example of the Placebo Effect.

We each believe what we do. No point in beating a dead horse.

The numbers on the 09 GTS are in; this month's Car and Driver tested it in an 8 car shootout. Its 0-60 dropped from 7.8 to 7.2 secs, and the quarter mile is quicker (15.7 vs. 16.3) but its trap is virtually the same (88 vs. 87 mph). Handling seems a tiny bit affected by the new engine's few extra lbs; skidpad dropped to .83 from .84, and braking from 70 mph is 7 ft. longer at 177 ft.

i test drove the 2.0L automatic before i got my 09 gts 5 spd and i could feel the difference big time, i'm sure most of it was just the difference between driving a manual and the cvt. also mine has the dunlop tires on it and i do notice that sometimes it pulls to the left but i'm never sure if its just because of the road or what.
