I know what you mean. Try to play with paddle shifter on my PS2 steering wheel controller. I don't like it. Wish there was a manual tranny steering wheel controller instead.

sorry bout going off topic, but dipper, you know what we really need? one of those old Ridge Racer Manual arcade consoles... on those things they got the whole clutch/5 spd shifter going on... i've played it a couple times and just coz its manual like that it could kick GT3's *** anyday.. like i mean you got Daytona which kinda has a 4spd shifter, but on this ridge racer you gotta kick the clutch too, and its not bad on realism and physics...... haah its probably not around anymore... its like atleast 5-6 years old i think, but i saw one at the boardwalk fair in Atlantic city like four months ago... wow...
anyways back to rally tranny topic.. sorry guys

I think paddle shifters could be fun too...if they have a nice "click" to them. My experience comes from playing with the Logitech MOMO edition steering wheel at best buy.

Anyone know any other companies that do sequential trans conversions? In the US preferably.

Also, i was referring to the e46 being low tech compared to what's out there, not the 2002 M3. Either way really don't know anything about it i would just think something available these days would have to be better than those older M3s.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure E46 is the chassis code for the new M3s, the older M3s are E36s

Yeah my bad, E46 is new. The new m3 trans i've heard is awesome yes. I thought whoever mentioned it was speaking of the older m3.

Zeroize, thanks much, i got the vids. That seems like a real budget system by 5zigen. what's the point of sequential if you still have a clutch? Really not that much faster. I think I'm gonna have to contact colin mcrae to get this taken care of.

You guys forgot one thing.

Sequential gearboxes for the EVO VII are designed for competition use. They will not last for the kind of miles that would be piled on with street use. Ever wonder what all that whine is in the cockpit during speed vision rally races? Straight cut gears, wearing themselves out. Stronger but short life. Ever wonder why your car makes more noise in reverse? Straight cut gear!

no i didnt forget bout that, thats a good point, actually ikeya advertised this system to be quite durable, street car kind of durability, not just for track. but anyways thats why i'm gonna be keeping in touch with ManilaEvo, hes gonna install it in his street car Evo VII soon and by the time i get the Evo when it comes it'll be about a year and i think thats a god enough durability test for me.

Damn!

There has to be a way....

Can they make a sequential trans without straight cut gears? I MUST HAVE IT@!#%!%^

So assuming there is no other way to do it, exactly what parts get worn down in a sequential trans? So I can try to figure out how much it would be to replace just those parts.
