Hello everyone. Just saw a commercial forhte Lancer that's here in the USA and when i went to Mitsu's website, i was shocked to find the one they are selling only has some 140HP?!?!?! what kind of **** is this?? I was hoping for the turbo version to be here. To make a LONG *** STORY short, i currently have a 93 300ZX Twinturbo Stage 3 (about 400HP) and have to sell it.
So i'm in the market for something fast and fun since i'm very much into auto-xing and road racing. I'm kinda leaning toward the WRX but it's ugly as sin!!! the Lancer has always been a nice looking car but with the 140HP ****, i'm going to have to skip on it. And no, i don't have a year's time to wait.
My biggest concern is that i would get the Lancer if i could drop in a turbo later on w/o selling my kidney (since i sold one just to mod my Z32 so i don't have one to spare).

Should i get the Lancer or am i just going to waste my money because the US goverment just likes to stick auto-enthusiest (sp?, oh i can't spell for ****.. i would use bigger words that i know but i just can't spell it.)

Hey chivas, why do you have to sell the Z? Sounds like a bad *** car! Anyways... yea the lancer only comes with the 4cyl. 140HP engine... as of now. If you want the evo you'll have to go through other sources.. but it'll cost. Click here.

As far as I remember, the Lancer came with 120hp instead 140hp you guys mentioned (how interesting now....ever lower than you think)

I will check and see is there any turbo kits developing for this engine soon.

 

Try going to a Mitsu dealership and test driving one. It lacks in performance, but the fit and finish is pretty good compared to a Suby. If you decide to get one and mod it, keep in mind that you won't have 4WD or AWD.

There is no way I'd go from a 400HP Z to a 120/140? HP lancer... At first sight I thought the WRX as ugly... but it has grown on me to where I like it more than my car..
