you own a Lancer OZ so you're using regular oil. do you think it would still be free if you use synthetic like the EVO? $10 per oil change is a hell of a deal.

How mitsu going to say "changing oil yourself" will void warranty on the motor? I have never heard of this . . . unless you suddenly develop the first crankwalk case on the G94 in the US.

You can buy 5 quarts of Mobile 1 synthetic for 18.88 at Wal Mart and the filter is like 6 bucs from the Mits dealer. Total time invested: 30 minutes (and that is if you suck).

Keep the receipts and you should have no problems all they want is something showing that is up to date. When I had warranty work done they didnt even ask anyways

The other thing about doing it yourself is disposing of the old oil. I used to do all my oil changes, got a different job and don't have as much time so I let the dealer do it, on saturday mornings, 1st customer of the day. I miss not doing the oil change but don't miss having to take the oil somewhere (recycle center) to dump it afterwards.

just bring the used oil to a Pep Boys or Autozone. all you have to do is sign a sheet and drop it off. it takes something like a whole 10 minutes to do.
