swap 4g18 to 4g63t evo 5 done

hi guys i,ve done swap to my 4g18 2004 lancer..

every thing was very successful the engine works very good on the car..

temp is good all the tachos work fine..

i,ve been through alot trying to make the tranny fit..

made many mods to the tranny (f5m42) .....spacer to contain the evo's fly wheel because the housing is too small..

an adapter for the drive shafts..(the tranny's shaft is differ from the evo's clutch disk)

all that went okay for 5 mins..and then the clutch bearing got broken..even though i didnt floor it..

i,ve contacted some of the famous shops like sheptrans..so they can convert me a tranny to FWD..

actually am not gonna turn it to AWD..

they told me they did it before on a mirage..

by building up a transfer case and removing its tail .....and LSD ..and evo axelz

the problem is we are not sure if the lancer has room for a transfer case..

so can u please guys help me with that...is there a room for the transfer case..?

did any body try this before any experiences...?

Look underneath your car... and you will notice that there IS a tunnel that runs right in the middle of the car. On base Lancers, it is where the exhaust routes through... but it is in fact the same exact tunnel where the driveshaft of the EVO runs through.

Now here's the catch. The EVO front swaybar has a bend in the middle of it to clear the transfer case, where as the base Lancer front swaybar does not.

Refer to this picture:

I'm tired... just got back from work... good luck with your swap!

man you my savior its been 4 mothns trying to find a solution..
am not sure if i got it right.

if there is no bend in the sway bar in the base lancer then there is no way to clear the transfer case..?

if not then how can i clear it ?
i guess you,ve done it in ur car..
its cleared right?

I used the EVO swaybar. If you have to use the base Lancer swaybar it would just barely clear the transfer case... but it would hit at times, which could possibly cause a problem.

hay..the car is almost done one thing remains..

i am using evo front axles i am thinking of changing the front hubs to evo's but i am not sure if it fits i dont wanna buy them and get stuck..

i wanna make use of the hubs for 2 things

drive shafts wont fit in the stock hub...
the other thing is that my wheel bolt pattern is 4x100 i wanna turn it to 5x114

so i can get the brembo disk fit right on..

MarkOJ1011:

any idea man if the hubs for evo fit the lancer..?

To be quite honest... I don't really want to disclose anything about the swap. Not on this forum anyway.
