My Lancer is finally gone...

On my home last night, I was trying to get my phone out of my pocket and looked down for a bit and when I looked back up I was on the side of the road (consisting of grass and loose gravel). So I turned the wheel back to the left to get back on the road, but because I was on loose gravel the car just turned sideways and started swerving. While I was sideways I hit a culvert and bounced over a driveway. The airbags went off and the car came to a stop. I got out and checked the body and my front driver wheel was out of the wheel well completely sideways. The only thing holding it in was the brake line. The strut and spring both fell out when it was being lifted onto the flatbed. I haven't done a complete inspection but I saw that the black bar under the motor with the motor mount on it is bent and the hood doesn't line up. I'm in a rush right now but here's some pics.

09 Ralliart? Just kidding. Sorry to hear about your loss. Could be a lot worse though. Glad you are alright.

Sounds like you got some frame damage. Maybe be too expensive to fix.

Well, now you can shell it out and build a full tubular frame and do a monster engine swap.

I wish insurance would, but due to the value of the Lancer, I recently (as in like 2 months ago) removed full coverage so they'll pay for nothing. I also feel like it is totalled and not worth repairing. The whole front end suspension and probably brakes would have to be replaced, frame straightened, new wheels and tires. I think a new car is a better option. I'm thinking of a Mercury Maruader 03 or 04 since I've wanted one for a while. Most nowadays have half the miles I had and are roughly same as what I paid for the Lancer new. I'm planning on parting it out completely since the motor is still good, smooth, no leaks, and revs fine still. I shifted through all the gears and no problems or weird noises. I think I can get a decent amount of money from parts. I'll make a new thread for that. Thanks for the support.

Wow Mercury Maruader? Thats something real different, but is nice and is a cruiser. From my inspection it does look totaled. Having to pull the frame pretty much means so. Too bad you took the full coverage off. I would say try and sell it AS-IS. Is the car payed off?

Yeah it's paid off. I was thinking about seeing what I could get either as a fixer-upper or a salvage yard just to see.

I hate to be the one to take advantage of a bad situation, but when are you going to start parting out and selling?

How little is it worth that you took off full coverage? It still was worth $6,000 or more, no?
