evo 8 turbo on lancer

Im getting rid of my turbo and intercooler piping so Im wondering if its possible to fit it onto a lancer. My friend would be happy as hell to get this turbo from me haha so Im just wondering if its possible. Im sure it could only run like 3-4 pounds of boost but still it would be a fun project. Let me know guys if you have tried it and if it works.

Yes. There have been several build thread for an EVO 8 16g.

However, every one has had to do custom fab work, because there isn't a bolt on kit like RRM's for this particular turbo.

Yea it works fine. I have one with an evo manifold that has a lancer flange on it, and I'm also using the evo downpipe.

so from what i can tell only the upper ic pipes and the downpipe have to be custom fabricated. That should be pretty easy. How much boost do you think is possible without head work

No, all the intercooler pipes, intercooler, and downpipe fit great. The downpipe is a little longer than the stock lancer downpipe though. So he'll either need to get it cut, or just get the rest of the exhaust redone. If he has enough fuel and proper tuning, 10 psi would be ok, at max. Generally, the safe zone is between 7-10 psi.

Oh and on the turbo, he'll have to grind that little bracket that the oil line has a support bolt going into.
