Have you guys heard about radar detectors that can also jam a signal. I'm now looking for one but I don't where or who would be a good brand. All I know is that ol Bill is going to have a problem reading me on the highway

I'd be careful...if you do a bit of searching you'll see most, if not all, of the so-called "jammers" are both ineffective and illegal.

I have seen a few that work great. Two years ago we tested one and it worked all 4 times we hit it with Laser, K band, and Ka band.

Maybe it's just me but I don't find a radar detector that useful. I have one and to be honest, I don't pay attention to it that often or speed enough to warrant it. I've heard that with those jammer systems, if you buy the cheaper ones, they don't work at all and the ones that work are expensive as hell.

You have to be careful with a radar detector of any kind. In most provinces(not sure about states) it is illegal to even have a radar detector. I know that in Alberta, the police officer can take it on the spot and give you a $150 or $200 fine(can't remember what it cost) for having one. I have a few relatives who are police officers across Canada and they said if you get caught with the "jammers" it's a hefty fine.

Radar detectors aren't illegal in Alberta, you're thinking of another province (maybe BC or Ontario).

I have a relative that's a cop, and she says they can tell when a car has a jammer, because their radar will start going crazy. She also said (where she lives) they can take your car from you (impound it) if you have a jammer. Be sure to check your local laws, and if you drive across state lines be aware of their laws as well.

I got pulled over in Edmonton in April and the cop took the RD right out of my car and gave me the speed ticket and the ticket for having it. I took it to court to fight it and the judge said that they were illegal and they kept my RD and I had to pay both tickets. My uncle works for CPS and he said the same thing. I guess it is what type of mood or how much paper work they want whether they will take them or not.

I'm pretty sure radar jammers are illegal everywhere since they block a device used to catch you doing something illegal. And I also think when it jams it, it jacks up they way it functions so they can tell if you have one. If you get caught with a radar jammer, you'll pay a big *** fine and probably have it taken away.

I think you got screwed over or it was several years ago because I have a detector, my father has a detector and several other people I know have a detector and no one has received any trouble for it.

I have been pulled over many times for speeding, and have been able topull my RD off the mount way before I pull over, so they can't see anything, here in Vegas, are hands are quicker than the human eye.....my buddy has a Jammer that was about 1800.00 and it works great, and hasn't gotten a ticket since....and he's flying around in his Lambo Gallardo
