theres a new system out by beltronics, I forget what its called, but it is a flush mount in dash radar unit and you install 4 sensors around your car, and what it allows you to do is travel a certain speed, hit a button, and it will keep thjat speed in memory. lets say you hit the button at 45 mph, then speed up to 60....the cop will still only read 45 mph. it doesnt make the radar freak out or anything, just say 45, plain and simple, so they wont know you have any type of radar jammer/scrambler/etc. the shop i used to work at had one on display before they actually came out, and I think they were going to sell for about 900 bucks for the entire system. look into that.

both radar detectors are and jammers are pointless.
neither one can prevent you from getting a ticket.
ive heard detectors only being illegal in comercial cars and not private cars.
the plus on radar detectors is just a warning of maybe intersections with speed traps or the same on free ways.

also radar jammers have a break thru point. meaning if your going 70 by a cop it will still show up on his radar its just at what distance from him will the radar gun be able to break thru the jammer and show a speed.
higher priced ones can put you very close to a sitting cop car befor he can read your speed.
all it does is increase the time you have to react to a sitting cop.
there are things like the valintine 1 that send the cop some crazy signals making him think your going 190 then 30 then mach 2. not literally but you get the point. i belive these are scramblers and are verry illegal....
google it ill try and find the site with all this info and testing on breakthru points on different systems

wow i was seriously not expecting this much feed back...this leads me to a new question. if i have a jammer and it makes the cops device go all crazy do you think the cop could use that as probable cause to search my car. if i get a RD with jammer it would definitely be wired into my car in a way that it is not easily accessible, or in plain sight. could a cop check my car for a RD with jammer is the question?

I believe those jammers are wired behind your front bumper or grille and your rear bumper. I would think it would not be very easy to spot and no police officer will crawl around on his hands and knees to find it. Depending on his mood or if he is a highway patrolman(always ticket happy) they could send you for an inspection to figure out what it is that is jamming their radar gun. They could probably give you a big fine, make you pay a shop to remove it and get periodic inspections. Personally, I would suggest not getting the jammer because if you get caught with one, you could get a HUGE fine at least. If you are that worried, invest in a good radar detector like the valentin V1 I think it is, then you have less chance of getting tickets and way less hassles if you do get one. Good Luck
