Wink Oz Vs Es

Last month my OZ Lancer (AT) got a accident......someone hit my rear door, right side and rear bumper. i go through the insurance, they pay me for the car rental.
I went to the "Enterprice", and they gave me a Lancer ES (AT). So i have two weeks testing the ES.

First feel of the ES, CHEAP. Cheap plastic....... steering wheel, dash board, hand brake.........
Handling at the cornering is worse than my OZ, may be OZ have a rear anti roll bar and OZ have 15" wheels and ES only have 14". also OZ's steering wheel feeling is much better.
Driving the same way to work everyday, i found that the (AT) transmission gear up and down is a lot of different. looks like no power for the ES..........i am thinking, is that the ECU have different setting??

AT last, under the hood at the lower left corner, the ES is missing some parts. i don't know whats thats for, anyone can tell me??

If anyone really want to buy a Lancer, think the OZ first.

Engine, ECU and other engine parts are identical to the OZ. The only real differences in the interior, the rear sway bar, the wheels, and the spoiler. All of which will be changed by me, so there was no point in spending the extra modem for the OZ. I have a manual, so I don't know if the gear ration is different. That sucks that you got a AT. I got hit a month ago, and my car gets to go into the shop tomorrow. I will cry I if I get an AT.

OK. I got an ES (MT)and to tell you the Truth...I think that Buying a OZ in a wates of MONEY. The Only thing different on the OZ are, The ground effect kit, the rear spoiler rims and the interior. The OZ and ES have the same engin specs. In fact, the OZ is alot heavier. After all, all your gonna do is take your rims off and get other ones, change the body kit...if you got money, and wish you had a MT to get off the line quicker. All in all, I THINK you got riped off. But hey that's just me. The part that you said was missing under the hood of the ES was the pretty little blue green cap on the TB which is the cruse control.

I would just like to say that I would buy the OZ all over again just to get the interior. The ES, LS interior is pure crap. Tan seats, wood grain trim, looks pathetic. Now I know that all of you ES LS owners will say that can be changed, but that costs money too, so what really are you saving??? Also, the cladding on the car looks great, all IM going to add after my 1.5 inch drop is the Kaminari front and it will look great. Just my own opinion, but hey to each is their own. Dont forget about the cool OZ gauges too.

I have the ES, and I have beautiful Gray/Black Interior and nice trin (not carbon fiber, but not wood grain). I didn't pay any extra. I would wrather die than have tan interior... but that's just me... I had tan interior in my Altima, and it was IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean. Anyways... I love my ES, and I love the look of the OZ, but, In my opinion, it's not worth the extra money... I only paid 12,775 after everything, and before taxes...

Smile Lancer OZ vs. ES

Hey everyone, I just bought a Black Lancer OZ and absolutely love it! When I went to the dealer my first thought was to check out the base model ES. After I drove it and realized for about $1k more I could get a much nicer looking car by buying an OZ Rally edition. To all of you thinking of a Lancer, I would say go for it! But do not get cheap and conservative and buy the car you REALLY want! Buy the OZ Rally.....you'll love it, I know I do.

I can understand that. The OZ is a great car to keep as-is. The ES is a deal when you are going to replace everything that the OZ offers, then there is little point. I drove a OZ the other day... There was 0 difference in the handling. I drove it like hell to. hmmm... I'm not trying to diss the OZ in any way, I really like the look, just not the extra price. Now, if I could have gotten the Leather and Sunroof, and Evo Spoiler, now that's a reason for getting the OZ...

I have a new stereo system and subs, seat covers, custom grille, fog lights (hate them, so they are going to go), I got an Injen Inatake on the way, and I'm waiting for some pics of different springs to see what I want to get along those lines... Up and comming is the exaust, and Rims... I'm running kinda low on money... don't have a digital camera, so I got to get film... maybe on my next check...
