933 bucks later....

My car looks the same, but it runs at least.

08 Lancer with 17k miles on it and a victim of pumping gas from a station that had contaminated gas (with water). Insurance didn't pick it up, so now it's lawyer time. Just a headache I didn't feel like dealing with.

I was running low on fuel so I stopped by and filled up 12 gallons, 4 miles later the car was sputtering and shaking like crazy. After the mitsu dealer had it for a few days (b/c it happened on a Friday night and nothing gets done over the weekend) and ran some diagnostic stuff on the fuel to prove it had water in it.

I hope you get a big settlement out of this.
These days with people getting huge sums
for things that are a lot less deserving are
getting lots of money. Good Luck

Which gas station? Might be a good idea to have a heads up to people who live near you.

The gas station was named "Stop Gas n' Go." Located in Covington, LA on Highway 190 Southbound. I know I know, I should have known something was up by the name, but no one ever expects to get bad gas from ANY gas station. I needed gas pretty quickly and was in an unfamiliar area, so I had to take what I could get.

I'm not looking to get any big settlement guys, I just want the money owed to me that I used to pay the car, thats all. (and the 23 bucks of gas I bought from them too!) Like I said, I will be happy to get anything at this point.

Luckily I pulled over at the first hint of the car not running right. The guy at the dealership told me that if I would have tried to go much further the gas would have caused a lot more damage. Nothing needed replacing besides some spark plugs, everything else was just flushing the system and cleaning the bad stuff out. A guy brought his truck in on the same day as mine with bad gas (different station) and his problem was regular gas mixed with diesel fuel. It's going to cost that guy over $7k!! crazy.

Good luck! Those gas stations need to know what they're selling to people.

yea i hope u get that all sorted out and end up on to..when i was like 18 i was doin drugs and wouldnt even spend a cent on gas unless i had to, i had a 99 altima auto, always runnin on empty, and started puttin my friends gasoline they used on their lawnmower/weedwhacker, everything was fine, got me to my dealer lol, but after a baaad nite of hitting a park car, drivin thru a neighborhood on a rim at like 3 am, and gettin hauled off to jail. the car got "totaled" and i noticed the trans case was cracked, i know i didnt break it when i hit the car so musta been from gas/oil mixture.....eh live n learn

too much info haha

anyways, you should of atleast filled up enough just to get to a better gas station, and not fill up your whole tank at that station.

Or avoided filling up your tank w/ weedwacker gas.

That sucks. Was the gas cheap at least? At $23 for 12 gal that's almost $2 a gal...

Good luck in your legal battle!
