Problems with the walbro 255

I successfully installed the walbro 255 correctly. Next day I start my car and everything seems fine. I drive about a half mile and my car starts to die! I didn't have gas in my car, the light was on and I was on my way to fill her up.

You think I would have to put gas in it to get the fuel pump running on some fuel??

Huh? How is that a problem with the 255 if you ran out of gas? Just get a jug, put a gallon in and go to a gas station...I'm confused...

well normally for a fuel pump / car to run you need gas in it.......makes sense that the car stopped running when you were out of fuel..

but yeah blame the walbro for you running the car empty

Can you hear the fuel pump turning on? If not double check all the connections.

I had a similar issue, but I actually had a 1/2 tank of gas, but the guage was reading empty, and the car wouldnt start...

(my solution) was to pull the entire sender unit/FP out, pull out the FP from the sender unit, and check to see if the wire is connected, as mine was not... Connected it, and it started up and off you go... hopefully...
