Differences between E4 RS and E4 GSR

Hi people, I'm new here and this is my first post even though I've been reading tons of the threads here over the last 5 days or so

I own an E4 RS and am wondering what the differences are between the E4 RS and E4 GSR? I've heard many different stories saying that the RS already has forged pistons, no AYC, no ABS etc .. but can't really rely on the source (another forum) .... Could someone please set me straight?

Cheers,

Sure .. I'm from Aotearoa AKA New Zealand, yet another land down under

I haven't had my EVO for long and owned a WRX before that. That all changed after I test drove my EVO and instantly fell in love with it.

From the top of my head, you're right about the AYC and ABS part, I'm not sure about the forged piston. The final drive ratio of the RS is also different than the GSR to have faster acceleration. I am not sure if the 1st and 2nd gear ratio are also different, but I can find that out.

Other than the mechically difference, the interior is different (RS doesn't come with the recaro seats and nicer interior trim). RS comes with 15" steel wheels as standard and the door handle and side mirrors are un-painted.

Hope this helps

Thanks Lan Evo, yeah I knew about the seats and wheels. Mine currently has the EVO VI GSR seats (came with it). The RS ones apparently truely sucked! It's also got wind down windows which I like and 18" TDM chromies. .... I doubt it has forged pistons though, would be a bonus if it did.

I just found out that even for RS, there were 2 versions. RS low and RS high (direct translated from Japanese)

RS low has higher final drive ratio (4.875) compares to the lower GSR and RS high spec (4.529). The third, fourth and fifth gear ratio are also different on RS low: 3rd: 1.444/4th: 1.096/5th: 0.825 compares to the GSR/RS High's 3rd: 1.407/4th: 1.031/5th: 0.761

Hope this also helps
