Sunroof option?

Anyone know if a sunroof will be available on the Evo VII's or VIII's that come over to the US?

I'm pretty sure people have asked this before. The standard answer is no due to a crossbeam in the roof that apparently bears some weight and maintains the integrity of the chassis in a side impact.

That does not mean they cannot be dealer installed or aftermarket options, but don't expect the looks to come without the prices of lost chassis rigidity and/or safety. Hope that helps a bit.

Yes it does...thank you. Too bad though. That's the problem I had when I thought about buying a WRX.

The sunroof is an option now on the EVO VII. So I really doubt it would be any different in the US.

my sunroof was installed and they used another bracing method callded cross bracing. It is just as it sounds, an x shaped brace was pun in to stabalize. At least that is what they told me. The car does not handle any different but in the unfotunate case of flipping the thing I think it would crumple more than a solid roof L.

Anyone have pics of sunroof tilted? I'm curious how it looks.

Awwww weak. I really like how moon/sun roofs tilt like that especially on Eclipses.

Veeeery interesting. I'm sure that'll make a lot of people happy.

Now I'm just wondering if it's Euro spec Evos only or if they have them in Japan as well. Allegedly even US Lancers will have them as manuf. options next model year too.

That tells me nothing about who installed it. Not only that, but I've seen (I'm pretty damn certain) the same exact picture sans sunroof. I'll try to find it so you can determine if they're different or which is real.
