Exclamation Everyone read

See the word moderator circled? How about giving everyone that has this job a little respect. I just keep seeing more and more members, mostly newbies going after moderators for some reason. Maybe this means we should get tough and act more like post ****'s. We try and keep things civil, but each time we do something we end up being the bad guys. So try and keep it civil so we don't have to clamp down on everyone. Remember it takes just 1 click to ban someone.

They are treating you so bad in the vendors section. They just don't know how good they have it with you as a vendor. They just don't get that you are a business and you can't sell everything at cost. Then the lower prices they do find seem to be grey imported parts. I rarely see vendors match or beat prices, usually they are just like screw you, because I know you'll pay that price anyways. They also forget that by buying it somewhere else, they probably won't get any support or questions answered if they have problems. All anyone cares about is the lowest price I guess. I'd rather pay a little more for service. Even though they really aren't paying more with the prices you've listed. If you do a search you'll see how vendors are getting constantly flamed for no real reason. They seem to want the part now and cheap. It's a Lancer...it's not a Civic so don't expect Civic prices and choices. Look at the WRX, the new bodystyle came out in late '00...still no strut choices for it and it is probably the most popular import today. I can give you a list of over 10 spring choices and at least 20 coil over choices for the wrx though. I think I'll shut up now....

You hit it almost right on the head there b_tapper. Thanks for your support. They're not being worse than I expected however. People want their prices and I can understand that. I do my best to help them out. I'm not worried about it, and it doesn't hurt my feelings if people don't want to pay my prices, but I'm glad that someone understands how business works.

Goes both ways?

b_tapper: I've been lurking here for a couple months, maybe 6 or 7 I guess, and have noticed that some moderators don't act like moderators "should". I can't think of a particular instance, but I recall some of the moderators being very beligerant towards posters - usually newbies. If the moderators are respectful, generally the posters are respectful in turn. However, you'll always get the bad apples, especially with the demographics that the Evo would attract.

As for the vendors, welcome to the internet! On the S2000 forum, several of the vendors are active members of the community, and answer questions all the time, only to have the person go to some other importer who is $10 cheaper on a $400 part. Again, it's the demographics of the car. The older and wiser people will buy from someone who is there to answer questions and so forth, while the younger guys just want the part for as little as possible, regardless of whether its gray market, whether it has a warranty, etc. With the Evo, I think you'll see much more of the latter.

My 2 cents...

I think everyone just needs to act professional towards everybody and treat others like you'd like to be treated.

Nah, I think they should go cry about it.

Seriously though, I think it's funny that a lot of the people who cause so many problems are also the ones who think they can mod themselves (no finger pointing here, just an observation). I think the mods here do a very good job and don't clamp down too hard without reason. Hell, even two people who have been banned have come back and are actually more friendly than half of our new posters. I'm sure it'd make everyone happy if everyone just kept it civil and made their jobs, as well as peoples' reading in general, a lot easier and more worthwhile.

As for the vendor thing...I'm not sayin' you should take abuse, but hey...like two people have already said it's usually either price or service. In your case I'm taking it on good faith that it's both. I hope you can keep doin' what you're doin' and offering group buys at good prices. Some of us really appreciate it.

I'm pretty decent and respectful to every member...except in ot, because it's ot I just would just like to get a little respect. I know the other mods would like it too, but they won't speak up about it. Guess it's just an age thing. Just certain members enjoy going after the mods for doing their damn jobs. Like I said it's very easy to ban a member and to really become a post **** if I wanted to.

Which would work great, except you always get the 12 year old juveniles who like to act all big and tough behind their screen names. Oh well, part of the joys of being on the internet.
