is there a reason why no one is offering pulley sets for the lancer?

You sell a set of cams for what, $600? $700? Pullies don't give you much (if any) real gain and it's a pain in the *** to install in some cases. Not a very popular ricer mod... Most people'd opt with an I/H/E before ever considering a set of pullies.

Considering the only camshafts available are from RPW and they were developed on the older 1.8L 4G93 motor which shares the same head as the 4G94, I wouldn't say that argument holds much merit. As for a pulley set, do as several people have done (albeit I'm sure some were along the lines of "Dood, UNORthodox, you guys should make pulle!"), heckle manufacturers. Why not buy the Unorthodox pulley for the 1.8L 'rages, get a custom belt, and try to get some fitment. The shop that's done my work after seeing my motor said that the 1.8L pulley would probably work, just would need a belt. The mod itself doesn't really interest me and that's why I didn't take their offer but hell, if it'll speed things up, maybe further along the line. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Besides... Why not try and get something that'll actually give you some gain?

I don't see why your asking about the weight of the pulleys, its the sizing that matters. If you put a bigger pulley on the crank and smaller on the accessories you will greatly reduce drag on the motor. But remember if you plan on putting a big system in the trunk the alternater will not be able to recharge the battery fast enough.
I said that backwards, A smaller pulley on the crank would in fact turn the accessories less every time the crank turns over. Sorry

The person getting a pulley set to get more power, and add a big system in the trunk to get better sound so be shot dead on spot anyway.

I ordered a pully from a company in San Francisco and it should be here in a few days. It is for the 1.8 mirage and they said the same thing, which is to get a custom belt. So Im gonna try it. If it works, Ill write up a reply.

From friends with past bad experiences with pulley kits on mitsubishi cars. DON"T DO IT. Mitsubishi cars are bad for what's called crank walking. Definitely not good for the motor. I'm not saying that it will happen to all, but both of my friends who have tried the pulley kits on both of their cars have experienced crank walk. And the kits were installed by a local aftermarket shop in my neck of the woods. The shop even gave a warning that mitsubishi are bad for it. So I don't recommend that upgrade.

The cars that had the crank walk didn't happen to be 2G turbo DSM's that had either a 6 or 7 bolt flywheel with lots of mods were they?

Why would a pulley kit CAUSE crank walk? From what I read about it, the car either has it from the start or doesn't have it at all. A pulley kit and other mods will simply bring it out more over time, or just faster than it would if it stayed stock.
