Insurance cost for Evo.

Is it gonna be outrageous to insure the evo's, like a Ferrai or something exotic like that? :crap

Maybe the insurance folks won't know about the ***** this thing has for awhile...LOL!

They'll know. They have comprehensive reports on cars from performance to crash ratings etc.

It won't be as bad as a ferrari (because of the base cost of the car too), but it won't be as cheap as a Lancer or any other compact sedan.

I think it'd be smart to assume the Evo's insurance would be in the same area as insurnig a WRX. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to get either a quote on a WRX or to just ask someone what they pay. Just ask em nicely.

The insurance companies won't screw up like they did with the wrx. The insurance will be very high from the begining. It'll be pony car high since half will prolly be wrecked by stupid rich kids and wrc wannabe drivers

There is no way in hell insurance on an Evo will ever be as high as a Z28 or Mustang GT.

I got a quote on a WRX from Geico back in February to get an idea how much the Evo will cost me.

I am 23, driving for 6 years, 0 accidents (well, 1 but it's off my record) 0 tickets (well 1 but that's off my record too).

I told them the car would be financed.

Keep in mind I am in the NY Metro Area (extremely high rates).

$3,100 /year under my name completely.

I think it was so low because I have a good driving record.

I gotta think a Z28 would be higher. I mean it has 310HP and RWD...you know how dangerous that gets in the rain and snow.

Look at www.i-club.com just about everyday some kid is driving over their heads and wrecking (usually totaling it). My dad has a wrx, his insurance cost way more than mine does now and he's 53 with a clean record. Every few month he'll get a letter saying he's getting a huge rate increase. At least my insurance isn't going up.

That's hard to beleive. And it really sux. Maybe you should shop around for a better quote. It can't hurt. If the insurance company is smart, they will realize a 53 yr. old w/ a clean record is less of a liability and should be charged accordingly.

Over $6k a year to insure 4 cars Yeah I suck, I'm still on my parent's policy. For some reason Pittsburgh has such high rates. All my friends that live outside of the city have dirt cheap insurance. My insurance is like $1400 a year for a little underpowered pos car. I tried getting insurance last year and the best I could do was in the $3k range, even with like a $500 detuctable My friend has a neon and pays $45 a month, but he lives way out in the country.

Here are some quotes:

Rates in Philadelphia are comparable to or, in some cases, higher than for drivers in Newark, N.J. Philadelphia drivers with good driving histories pay an average of $3,000 annually for auto coverage of $50,000/$100,000/$25,000 (bodily injury per person/bodily injury total/property damage). New Jersey, whose average good-driver rates are comparable, has the highest auto insurance rates in the country.

According to the latest data from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, the average auto insurance premium in New Jersey was $1,200 in 1999, the highest in the country. New York ranked third with an average premium of $1,108.

I think Philly area is 2nd.

You think you have it bad in the us? Earlier this year i was paying € 2500 ($2,341.42) for a 1.0 litre toyota starlet and now im paying € 3200 ($2,997.11) for my lancer. Im 22 full license for 3 years and no accidents.. that insurance is just third party!

A friend of mine who has a WRX STI ra (i think, its the one with the aluminum shell) put his car down as a normal wrx, had a a little accident( around 5k worth of damage done to car) and now when he goes back to renue his policy they quote him € 9000 ($8,429.70) He cant afford that so he is going to convert it too a full on rally car and rent it out for weekends at 5g's a pop. Risky but fun
